Getting prepared atop Chuckanut Mountian.....and take-off!
Terry, Matt and I were planning to climb Early Winters
Spire, the peak on the left, but we stayed out too late at the Up&Up
Tavern. We drove 3 hours just to dawn our gear, stand on a picnic table
and snap these "hero" shots. Matt never even managed to get out of bed!

Camping with Inga, Terry, Jafit, and Ingas Dad. I
had to get some cool shots of the bus before letting it go.

The canopy was one of the final conversions/improvements made to the vehicle to restore the original style and performance. I used the material "Sunbrella" because of its durability and resistance to the suns harmfull ultraviolet rays. I also hand stitched the spare tire cover. I installed original 6-volt driving lights, converted them to 12-volt and removed any rust. The body had no dents and the paint was in good shape, it shined up like new. Rust and grime had to be removed from all original hubcaps. The interior sported original upolstry in fantastic condition. Interior restoration included the making of a new sliding door inside panel, a 12-volt pump for the sink and boosting the heat delivered from the heat exchangers.
