In the Park

In the Park

It had been over a year and a half since I had taken a real hit of acid. I was almost convinced it didn't exist anymore seeing how it was nowhere to be found. But then one day I heard from a friend that his hydro dealer had gotten 70 hits of blotter LSD. I wasn't too ecstatic because I'd been hearing similar lines for months and months. I had pretty much stopped believing anyone who said they could obtain some. I went to sleep that night and woke up the next day to a phone call stating that the acid was real! I was broke but still somehow I was 100% sure that I would trip that very night. The hits were $12 a piece which is very pricey but I was more than willing to pay it since I hadn't seen it in so long. Two friends and I purchased a hit each and saved it for as long as we could(about two hours). The anticipation was too strong so we dropped a little earlier than planned but it was okay.

Right after we took it at my friend's house, his mother came home and asked him to go to the store with her. He told me and the other tripper to wait at his house for thirty minutes. Well we waited for a bit but it was becoming obvious that he would be a while. We walked down the street to one of our good friend's house where they were outside playing basketball. He was kinda bummed because he couldn't come up with the dough to trip. At this point, my hit is starting to kick in. I noticed the small rocks and pebbles in the concrete start to resemble faces similar to Picasso paintings. It was also kind of waving and breathing as surfaces often do on acid.

I was sensing negative vibes because he wanted to trip too and I felt bad frying in his presence. And any experienced LSD user will tell you that emotional vibes play a large part in the trip. We chilled there for a while until the friend that got stuck with his mom returned. We saw him walking toward us with wide eyes and his hands raised in the air. He was indicating to us that he was feeling the trip. We remained there for a while but then a few carloads of people who were tripping off the same batch arrived. It was fun talking with them and comparing trips but large groups don't mix well with acid. We snuck off with this guy and his girlfriend to go smoke blunts at his house. Pulling into the gas station to purchase the cigars, we saw two brothers I consider to be aquaintances. My friend informed the younger one(about 17 or 18) that there was acid available and that he should hurry if he would like some.

I guess he doesn't do LSD and he said, "Man, that shit'll bust your head open." The three of us started laughing hysterically at that for some unknown reason. We left the store and arrived at the house. We chilled in the backyard for a while, smoking blunts and staring at the torch lamp which we later renamed the "Tiki Torker". Don't ask why, but it seemed right at the time. We had some great laughs back there over anything. Everything was hilarious and after a while my face and head started hurting from the unremovable smile. The others were noticing the exact same thing.

The three of us who were tripping decided to walk the trails at the park down the street. At this point, it was midnight or later. We were almost there and as we were approaching the park, we noticed a large tree in the distance. It looked just like an atomic explosion. We could see the thick black smoke like after a bomb exploded. We proceeded into the wooded area and as we were making our way through some trees, I felt as if we were in some sort of dream. Maybe even a nightmare. I wasn't scared or anything but the scene was very reminiscent of a Hollywood nightmare sequence. We walked over to a cliff with a creek in the bottom. The other side of the creek looked very strange in the dark. At times it would look like a cave, then a sunken pirate ship. Very trippy shit!

We got to the sidewalk trail which was also covered by trees with the creek running parallel. At times it would get hard to make out what's in front of us. We would get sidetracked and trip out on some trees or something for a while. A few times we tried leaving the trail to get a closer look at the creek, only to find that the creek is much closer than we anticipated. I recall a few times when one of us would stop ourselves right before walking into the water. We got around to the other side of the trail and started to hear a strange hooting noise which we later decided were owls. It was a weird sound I'd never heard before, almost like they were laughing at us. A little further down we saw a figure making its way down the trail, FAST! At first I thought it was a hallucination but it soon became clear that it was not. As it got closer we realized it was a man on a bicycle. This was at about 2:00 am and this guy was riding a damn bike in the park! As he passed I believe he said something like, "I didn't scare you, did I?" I was terrified before we figured out what it was but when we did it was quite funny!

We made it all the way to the street we needed to take back to the guy's house. When we arrived, it was very late and we didn't exactly feel like knocking on the door. We were at the bottom of the stairs deciding and the front door opened. He invited us back into to the backyard where we were chilling before. Several more people had shown up, all but one of them were tripping off the same batch we were. We chilled in the yard some more, laughed a lot again, and just tripped out in general.

The whole time in the yard we were all petting his hound dog and I've heard several times that contact with animals while on LSD will cause them to trip as well. I didn't believe that too much but the dog did seem to be acting strange. My friend was putting on a light show with two lit cigarettes and the dog was mezmorized. He would watch and then let out a small confused bark. As if he was saying, "That's not right!" The guy whose house it was went to sleep but he let us chill in his backyard. I believe a few times he awoke because we were being so loud and told us to keep it down.

We told everyone about our adventure on the walking trail and they wanted to experience it too. With a little convincing they got me to walk back down there. I didn't exactly feel up to it because we were down there for at least two hours the first time and this time it was a BIG group. I said, "Fuck it!" and we walked the trail once more. This time it took even longer because we stopped and sat a few times along the way. We went back through and saw pretty much the same stuff except for the biker. I guess he went home to make his 3:00 am curfew, LOL. While we were walking, one of the trippers, shattered a beer bottled he'd been waiting to scare us with. It did startle me a bit, but a tiny piece flew up and hit someone's eye. It wasn't serious but it did piss him off pretty bad.

By the time we got out of the park again it was about 6:00 am. Two of the guys with us had to go home which was the other way that we needed to walk(they ended up getting the cops called trying to break into his own house). That still left a hefty few walking in our group but we got there without hassle. On the way we were stopped by a guy who asked us if we knew where to get some weed. We thought this was strange so we said no. That early, we probably couldn't have gotten it anyway. We stopped at the convenience store to get some water because we were all very dehydrated. By this time the trip had pretty much worn off.

Most people went to sleep then but a few of us ended up chilling in the broken down car behind a friend's house. My trip started to come back a little while I was staring at the pattern on the aphoulstery. We hung out there until me and another decided to walk to his house and cook breakfast. The walk was a little strange. I could still feel the acid and I needed sleep. That made for a weird mixture of feelings that I kind of enjoyed. We made the food and grubbed out pretty hard. I wasn't quite as hungry as I thought but I still ate a fair amount. At around 8:30 am I decided to go home and get some sleep.

So that was my long drawn out(and probably boring) story of my most recent LSD trip. If you've read this far, congratulations, and I don't know what the hell's the matter with you.

Bye Folks!
