When I heard that Simple Plan was coming to the local Tower Records, I knew that I HAD to go. That Saturday morning I left my piano recital early so I could to Tower Records. Allie unortunately was unable to go. (She was practically crying on the phone because she couldn't cancel her piano lesson at 12:30) The band would be there at 12 and the earliest I could get there was at 11:45. The line was around the block! My friend Laura wasn’t there yet and I was getting anxious. 12 O’clock came and still the band hadn’t arrived and neither had Laura. At 10 after she appeared. Her friend Jen was way ahead of me in line so we moved up with her. Now I could actually see the store form where I was standing! There were five of us Laura’s sister had joined us as well as Jen’s friend. We waited…..and waited….and waited…..and still no band.Laura and I decided to run across the street to get something to eat from Quiznos. As we stood in the line to order, I looked out the window. Everyone was moving into Tower Records. The line was moving fast. We had to get back across the street. Quickly we bought two drinks and three bags of chips. Just in time we made it back into line. Everything was great…or so we thought.
At the door some guy that worked at the store stopped us and told we had to leave our food so me being the smart quick thinking girl I am stuffed 2 Snapples and 3 bags of chips into my purse. Not an easy task but none the less it worked and we were in. The line wrapped all the way around the store. The Simple Plan CD No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls played in the background and I could hear a chorus of fans in the store singing along. Then the moment came. We were next! I walked up to the signing table and there they were…David, Pierre, Chuck, Seb, and Jeff. I put my CD cover on the table. David signed it first and he said hi and thank you and then it was passed to Pierre (my personal favorite…hott hott hott) and he said thank you and I thanked him because he was the one signing MY CD! Then my CD cover was passed to Chuck. He said hi and asked me how I was. From that day’s experience I realized that he was the nicest member of the band. Drummers deserve more credit! I said I was great and asked him how he was and wished him good luck at their concert, which was that night. Next at the table was Seb. There he sat with these huge black sunglasses on and his hair by the way is now black instead of blonde. He signed the cover and then passed it down to Jeff. He did not say one word to me, not even hi! All he did was sign and then pass it down to Jeff. Seb is officially the worst member of Simple Plan. Celebrity definitely went to his head. I didn’t stay mad for long though, Jeff was just as nice as the rest of the member and I came out with a CD signed by all five band members!I have pictures of all the members but I have to get them scanned and everything first….come back later to see pictures of the band on this GREAT day!
