New Skateboarding Record AttemptIn spring of 2003 four skateboarders are going to attempt to set a world record by skateboarding over 3000 miles from Oregon to Virginia in a little over 3 weeks. The trek is to promote awareness of a rare disease called Lowe Syndrome. The leader of the trek, Jack Smith, has a 14 year old son who was born with Lowe Syndrome, Jack Jr. Jack Smith, Paul Dunn, Bob Denike, and Gary Fluitt set the skateboarding distance world record almost 20 years ago in 1984, but now that they are in there 40's it will be a greater challenge to break the record a second time. This time the team consist of Jack Smith Paul Dunn, Gary Fluitt, and Jeff Reynolds. The team is still looking for sponsers. All proceeds from pledges will go to the Lowe Syndrome Association. There last trip in 1984 raised $15,000 wich they donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. |

New Fiberlight DecksElement has always made great decks. One of there most famous line of decks is their feather light decks. Well now, they have made a new revolutionary skateboard deck, the fiberlight deck. The fiberlight deck is a deck that is wood on the outside and fiberglass on the inside allowing for a deck that is strong and yet still pretty light. |

The Louisville Extreme ParkThe Louisville Extreme Park in
Louisville, Kentucky is one of the largest park in the world. Doctors in the
local hospital call it the "fracture factory" because of the large amount of
injuries that occur there. The most noticable thing at this park is the 24-foot full pipe
which you can see in the picture at the right of the screen. |
