Health Criteria



There are certain health criteria you must meet before the drop zone will let you participate in Skydiving activities. After reading this you are still unsure whether you are fit enough theEmail us and we'll do our best to help you.

Parachutists need a reasonably high standard of physical fitness and must not be overweight in relation to their sex, age and height. Please note that the minimum age for parachuting is 16 and the maximum age is 50 for RAPS and AFF. Anyone under 18 must have the written consent of a parent or guardian. The upper age limit for tandem skydivers is 70 Anyone aged 40 or over, including Tandem skydivers, and anyone suffering or who has suffered from the following conditions, must have a Parachute Medical Certificate signed by a doctor.

Epilepsy, fits, severe head injury, recurrent blackouts or giddiness, disease of the brain or nervous system, high blood pressure, heart or lung disease, recurrent weakness or dislocation of any limb, diabetes, mental illness, drug or alcohol addiction, previous fractures, back strain, arthritis and severe joint sprains, chronic bronchitis, asthma, rheumatic fever, pneumothorax, liver or kidney disease, thyroid, adrenal, or other glandular disorders, chronic ear or sinus disease. Any condition which requires the regular use of drugs. Anaemia. Recent blood donation.

You must have completed the consent/medical Form prior to commencing the training course. This form needs to be printed and signed. Email copies are NOT accepted.

Please study the Weight/Height chart as persons who are very unfit or overweight relative to their height will not be accepted for training. The MAXIMUM weight is 14.5 stones (92 kg.) for RAPS and AFF and 14 stones (89 kg.) for Tandem skydives. Please refer to the parachute Centre Weight for for Height chart (below). Any person who fails to meet the minimum training standards will be asked to stand down from the course.
