-"The Fate of the Planet"-

Hi folks this is Peter Gilmour and this is my commentary on Episode 3 of Season 1 of XTremeWolverine. The name of this epiosde is "The Fate of the Planet."

I basically came up with this idea from playing Final Fantasy 7. One of the characters you may know. His name is Sephiroth. Sephiroth is the final enemy you have to face in the game. He is VERY EASY to beat. I thought about using him in a later episode, but I felt what the heck and put him in here. Basically, me and Greg came up with the storyline. (actually I did and he gave me some info lol) We came up with Sephiroth's sidekick Sef since we used to do a college radio show called THE TIME MACHINE way back in 1997. We had a spinoff of Celebrity Deathmatch called TTM Deathmatch (Greg can fill you in on that) Basically, we fought anyone and anything. We fought people who worked in the station and demons such as Sef. Thats where the idea for Sef came about.

The main storyline is based on the movie Independence Day. If you never have seen it, GET THE DVD!! The first few scenes depict the movie very well. for example, the beginning scene where the spaceship enters the Earth's atmosphere and the drones shooting anything in sight. It seems kind of cool that the movie inspired me to write it. No offense to my partner Greg, but most of this episode I came up with. But it's always nice to get some advice from time to time. Anyways, I basically wanted Logan to fight someone from his past. So I thought why not have him fight someone from when he was in Alpha Flight. Thats where the idea of having Logan and the X-Men fight Sef and Sephiroth.

Now you may notice that I put some Star Trek stuff in the episode. Me and Greg are HUGE Star trek fans and we decided to put some cool stuff in it. The scene with the computer talking was all my idea. The scenes where Logan is basically ripping Cyclops a new ahole is all my idea. I wanted to have Logan be a kind of a mean guy, but with a softer side. (as you will see with Valerie Grey) I dont want to maker Logan seem like a bad guy but anyone who knows Logan will know that you dont want to piss him off. So I made Logan say some sarcastic things from time to time. Its kind of my way of making Logan a tough guy lets say lol.

The fight scene is totally my idea. I wanted Sephiroth to have an advantage over the X-Men. So when he basically beats the crap out of the X-Men, it shows that the X-Men can't handle strong mutants. That's why Logan was recruited. Since he can heal any wound in an instant, he basically beats the villans up. The scene where Sephiroth supposedly wins the battle is a tease. I didnt want Logan to die so easy. So when Sephiroth is carrying Logan on his back and Logan suddenly wakes up and stabs him in the back, it shows you that you cant kill Logan so easilly because he will always come back to win in the end.

So when Logan kills Sephiroth and destroys the spaceship, it was like the end of Independence Day where the pilot sacrifices his life to blow up the ship and save the Earth. So too with Logan. I didnt want him to sacrifice his life, but I wanted him to show the X-Men that they need him as an ally and friend.

Well this is the end of my commentary. Feel free to look at the episodes on the site and maybe Greg will write up another amazing commentary for all you great fans.

W68's note:

How come I do work, but don't get any credit, lol.
Until now. But I want my name on the credits, damn it.

So Peter and I met at a college radio station, and teamed up to do a show. Eventually we added a wrestling parody called "Tuesday Night Terror," I think. This was a lot of fun, though it was very limited being audio only.

The story line was these aliens came to enslave Earth. But due to the fact that it was a wrestling show, it had to be a battle in the squared circle.

The aliens found out that the mock federations tag team belts were long vacated. We fought them on the premise that if we won, they would leave. Which seems odd to wager on a wrestling match, but it had to, because its a wrestling show, lol. But it also shows they would be defeatable.

Now, if they beat us, they would keep the belts, and get Earth. Suffice to say, we won the tag team titles, and saved the world.

It is also important to note that Sef was the name I gave to the evil alien leader. And interestlingly enough, his opening music was taken from Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7.
