Scene 1: In a rural office building in midtown Manhattan, a young man is working at his desk. The camera zooms in and we see that his name is Eddie Smith. Eddie works as a CPA (accountant). He is very well-known in his community and has received many awards for his work. He is married with 2 kids, John and Sara. His wife's name is Katie who works as a nurse. The phone rings. "Eddie Smith's office," says his secretary. On the other line is Peter Gilmur (from episode 2). His secretary transfers the call to him. "Hey Pete what's up?" he says. "Not much bub. Are we still on for tonight?" (Peter has set up a double date to go dancing at a nightclub) "You betcha. See you around 8'ish?" "No problem. See you then." Eddie hangs up the phone, finishes his paperwork and heads home.
Scene 2: At the mansion, Logan is in his room exercising. He is wearing only his boxer shorts. It is a very calm and cool day. Professor Page walks in. (the door is open) "Ahh, Logan. I'm so sorry to disturb you." Logan gets up and towels himself off. "Thats ok Professor." "How are you feeling?" Logan shrugs. "I’m doing ok, though I still feel a bit woozy." (as expected when you fight someone like MAGNETO) "Well, I'm glad to see that you're back to your old self. Listen, I've received word of some drug dealing at Le Bar Bat. (a nightclub in NYC) Logan thinks to himself. “Any leads,” asks Logan. “None, I can’t sense an energy source." Logan looks perplexed. "Then I’ll go investigate!”, Logan says shooting out his claws into the air, and pulling them back inside his arm. "I'm sure, you’ll get to the bottom of this. People are counting on you.” "You got it bub." Logan gets dressed and leaves on his bike. (scene fades)
Opening Credits
Scene 3: At Le Bar Bat, freestyle music is blasting through the club. (I Turn to You by Melanie C is playing) The camera shows people inside dancing and getting their freak on. Outside the club, the bouncer is checking ID's. The camera then switches to Eddie and his wife Katie walking down the street. "Wow! It looks packed tonight", says Eddie with a shocked face. "Good thing I got a babysitter", chuckles Katie. They then meet Peter and his new wife Hazel. (His first wife Jamie died in a car accident) They enter the club. They check their coats in and sit at a nearby booth. They sit down and Peter goes over to the bar to get some beers. He brings them back to the table and they drink their beers. They then go to the dance floor. Both couples are shown putting up quite a sweat. "Whew! I think I need another drink", says an exhausted Hazel. "Ok. I'll go buy another round," says Peter. He heads over to the bar and orders some more beer. Little does he know, that the bartender puts a mysterious green pill (which looks like Ecstacy) in one of the drinks as his back is turned. Gilmur pays for the drinks and heads back to the table. They all drink their beers, not knowing one has been spiked. (duhh) They then go back to the dance floor. As they start to dance, Eddie looks like he's drunk. He begins to stumble. "Hey, you allright dude?" asks Peter. But there is no response from Eddie as he falls to the floor unconscious. People look on in awe. "Oh my God! Eddie?",screams Katie. Peter checks for a pulse. There is none. "Someone call 911!", he shouts. A young man with a medium build is shown calling 911 on his cell phone. About 10 minutes later, paramedics arrive at the scene and take Eddie out of the bar. They load him into the ambulance and Peter and the ladies enter with the paramedic. The ambulance then drives away with people looking on.
Scene 4: Logan arrives at the club, not knowing what happened. He goes to the front door. The bouncer confronts him and asks for ID. But Logan doesn't have any on him. The bouncer then tells him to leave and Logan obliges. (Although he'd kick the bouncers butt if he wanted to) He then goes to the back and to his amazement, the door is open and he enters. He goes straight to the bar and orders a beer. He then asks the bartender. "Excuse me, I've heard some rumours going around about some drug dealing going on here. Is any of this true?" The bartender turns to him. "I, I do not know what you’re talking about", he says with a stutter. Logan looks perplexed. "Are you sure bub? Cause if you're lying, I'll rip your head off!" The bartender looks shocked. "Well, we get that a lot around here, but I assure you that nothing is going on here." Logan seems bewildered, but yet thinks that the bartender is lying. Wolverine takes his beer, and sits by the end of the bar. A young man sits next to him. (The same man who called 911) "Hi there. I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. But he is lying. About 10 minutes ago, some man was sent to the hospital." Logan turns to him. “Did you see what happened?" he asks. "Indeed, I saw it with my own eyes.” “What?”, asks Logan. “You won’t tell, I mean I won’t have to testefy or anything? Right?” “Yeah, the source has the right to remain anonomous.” Logan replies playing cop (not that he would squeal). “It was the bartender. He put some green pill into one of the drinks. I think it may have been Ecstacy." Logan thinks to himself and turns towards the bartender. Scene fades out as Logan is grinding his teeth at the bartender.
Scene 5: We switch to the hospital where the paramedics, along with Peter, Hazel and Katie arrive. The paramedics wheel Eddie in on the stretcher. Eddie is shown unconscious. "Someone help us!" ,screams Peter. The doctors and nurses just stand there like zombies. "HEY! Don't just stand there, help this man. He's unconscious", screams Hazel. The doctors and nurses run to the stretcher and send him into the OR. Peter and the 2 ladies are shown waiting outside. (scene fades out)
Scene 6: Back at the bar, Logan is staring a hole directly through the bartender. "Look, I told you already. There is nothing going on here." Logan slams his hand on the bar. "You're lying! I saw what you did, I have witnesses!" The bartender shrugs his shoulders. The TV is on and the news cuts in. A female reporter is heard saying: "This just in. Well-known accountant Eddie Smith was rushed to NYU Medical Center in critical condition with what doctors say may be alcohol poisoning. We'll have more news as soon as it develops." Logan looks up at the TV, finishes his bear and smashes it on the table. "HA! I knew it. You lying bastard!" ,he says with a mean voice. "So what! He deserved it. I hope he rots in hell", says the bartender with a devilish grin. Logan smiles. "I'd knew you'd say that. I can tell by your voice that you're an evil soul." The bartender looks surprised. "Well? So what! Who are you anyways?" he asks. "Let's just say I'm a 'collector.’ And now its time to collect", says Logan as he extracts his claws. "Time to go to hell bub!" ,he says. "I dont think so, freak.",the bartender says as he snaps his fingers, and 2 rather strong looking bouncers appear behind Logan. The bartender then rushes off to the back door.
Scene 7: Back at the hospital, doctors and nurses are trying their best to save Eddie’s life. One nurse is shown giving CPR, while the doctors are pumping electricity and medicine into his body, trying to revive him. The camera shows the heart monitor beeping slowly then flat-lining. "We're losing him," shouts one nurse. "500 milligrams more", says the doctor. More adrenalin is pumped into Eddie's body. No response from the heart monitor. "DAMN! 500 more nurse" ,screams the doctor as he takes over the CPR duties. Still no response. Another doctor gets the difibulator and tries to shock his heart. "Clear!", he says. Eddie's body jumps up and down. No response. They try 3 more times at different frequencies, but with no luck. Eddie has died. The nurse puts the time of death at 12:30 AM. They then cover his body and wheel him out of the OR. The doctor then heads to the lobby where Peter and the 2 ladies are. "How is he doc?" asks Peter. The doctor looks down. "Oh no. EDDIEEEE!!!", screams Katie as she falls down crying. "I'm so sorry. We did everything in our power to save him" ,says the doctor. "It's ok doc. Thanks." Peter shakes the doctors hand. The doctor heads out and Peter and Hazel are shown comforting Katie. Scene fades as Katie is shown looking up to heaven with tears coming down her face.
Scene 8: At the bar, the bouncers confront Logan. "You heard the man. It's time for you to leave!", says the larger bouncer as he touches Logans shoulder. Logan looks down. "You shouldn’t have done that bub", he says. He then slashes the bouncer in the lower neck, not killing him, but he bleeds and passes out. People are shown heading for the exits screaming. (WIMPS!) The other bouncer, a rather husky looking man, kicks Logan in the chest which sends him into a table, breaking it. Logan springs back up and punches him in the head. He is knocked out, and Logan heads for the back door. He goes out and sees nothing but darkness. He then senses something. Out of nowhere, the evil bartender jumps on him from behind and tackles him to the ground. He gets up and punches Logan in the face and kicks him in the gut just as he is getting up. He then takes out a long knife and stabs Logan in the chest near his heart. Logan screams in pain. Logan is shown bleeding from the chest. The evil bartender then stabs him in the leg. "It ends here freak!", he says as he raises the knife above Logan's face. He goes to slash Logan in the eyes, but Logan somehow blocks it and knocks the knife away from him, slashing the bartenders hand right off. (OUCH!) The bartender is shown in a load of pain. (Well if YOU got your hand ripped off, wouldn't you be?) "You stupid mutant! You'll pay for that!" ,he screams. Logan grunts and says: "Come get some!" The bartender charges towards Logan, but Logan sees the move and catches him, hip tossing the man to the ground. He goes over and pins him to the ground. "See you in hell", says the bartender as he struggles to break free. Logan smiles and extends his claws over his eyes. "You first bub." He then plunges his claws directly into his eyes and the evil bartender deflates, and dissipates into nothingness. Logan has a strange look of wonder on his face. “Demon,” he mumbles to himself, then leaves the scene. A TV is on in a nearby store, so Logan stops to listen. The female reporter is heard saying: "Tragedy has struck a bar earlier tonight when a man’s drink was drugged. He was award-winning accountant Eddie Smith. He was taken to NYU Medical, but has died from alcohol poisoning. He was 24 years old. Eddie is survived by his wife and 2 children. More news, and tips on protecting yourself from being drugged, later tonight." The report ends. Logan stares at the TV as it shows a picture of Eddie Smith. "Poor fellow. He didn't deserve to die. Must've been a hell of a guy", he says. He looks at the TV once more and leaves.
Scene 9: The next day, family and friends gather for the burial of Eddie Smith. The minister finishes his sermon and asks anyone to say a few words. Peter gets up. "Eddie was my best friend. He'll be sorely missed." He walks away with tears streaming down his face. He lays a white flower on his casket. Katie then gets up to speak. "Eddie was all the world to me." She can't continue as she walks away in tears. The minister finishes the service and people line up to pay their respects. Eddie's kids Sarah and John are shown crying. The pallbearers then lower Eddie's casket into the grave. The people then leave, all except for Peter as he looks down at the grave. Logan is shown approaching the grave. "Sorry to hear about your friend", he says. Peter turns around. "Oh hey! You're the one who saved me from the Lizard King", he says looking amazed to see Logan. "What are you doing here?" Logan looks at Peter. "Just paying my respects that's all. I didn't know who he was but he must of been a hell of a guy." Peter nods. "The bartender was another demon, but I sent him home." Peter looks down. "DAMN! Again?!" They both look down at the grave. They then begin to walk away. "Thank you. I never got your name", says Peter. "Logan." "Well, thanks Logan for all your help. I owe you one." Logan looks surprised by that comment. “If you need anything, you let me kn . . .” "Whydont you just buy me a beer." "You got it." They then leave as sad, melodic music is heard playing in the background as the episode ends.
THE END
This episode is dedicated to the memory of my dear friend Eddie Buck who died tragically of a drug overdose. To those of you who are thinking of doing drugs, THINK AGAIN! Drugs kill.
DONT DO DRUGS! And if you know someone who does drugs, get them help.
