Written by Peter Gilmour

Scene 1: At the mansion, Professor Page is in his office working with Dr. Valerie Grey on some paper work. “This seems to be good professor,” she says. "Excellent, another one to be filed away,” he replies. She gets up and walks over to the file cabinet, and puts the file in a drawer. Logan then enters the room. “Ah Logan, I’m glad you’re here,” says the professor. “Hello Professor. Hey Red, you’re lookin’ rather nice today,” he says with a wink. Valerie blushes, and asks: “Ready for your trip?” “I am, and boy do I need it. Demon hunting tends to wear me out.” “Logan, before you go, please sit down,” says Page. Logan sits down and listens. “Remember our discussions about the attacks in Paris?” Logan thinks, and with a white flash, we are taken back to a flashback sequence from “Shattered Dreams Part II”. "Man, I need a vacation," he says sighing. Page says: "You can have the next month off. But remember, there is evil all over the world, be careful.” Logan nods. With another white flash, Logan comes back to the present day. “Yes, I remember. I guess I’m going to France on business after all.” “Indeed, I need you to check it out.” “Someone say France?” says Gambit entering unannounced. “Yeah Remy I’m going to Paris,” says Logan rubbing it in. “That’s right, and you’re going with him,” Page adds. “I don’t need the Cajun’s help", says Logan. “Why not mon ami? Don’t you like traveling with friends?” “Not particularly, but if Page says you have to come.” “His knowledge of the country would be an asset to you.” “Very well then, as long as he doesn’t cause trouble.” Gambit smiles. Page hands them both passports. “Enjoy & be careful, gentlemen!” They both head to their rooms and pack, and both are shown on the screen at the same time.

Scene 2: The next morning, they are dropped off at the airport by an unseen driver. The car speeds off, without even saying goodbye. “You think he be jealous,” asks Gambit.” “Cyclops? Always!” The 2 laugh, and then they walk into the terminal.

Scene 3: The 2 mutants walk into the terminal. They get on line, which seems to move fast today. Finally, they get to the counter. “Where to?” says the woman. “Any where you like,” Gambit says, hitting on her. Logan jumps in, and says “We’re going to Paris, and then hands over their passports. “OK, put your bags on the counter, and proceed,” she says, handing them their tickets. They walk to the detectors, and Gambit looks at him. “Ummm?” “What’s wrong Cajun? Nervous?” “Nothing, nevermind.” Gambit them walks through the detector, and Logan follows behind him. *BEEP* “Sir,” says the security guard. “Please step back through.” Logan steps through again. *BEEP* “Sir, do you have anything in your pockets?” He looks, and find he has his key chain. He walks through once more, and the guard gets suspicious. In fact, another guard now walks over. “Look, that’s all I have. Search me if you want,” he says in his defense. They search him, and ask him to walk through one more time. As he goes through again, Gambit pulls out a card, and ignites it, just a drop. He throws it at the wire, and shuts the detector off. Logan walks though, and nothing happens. “Must have been a glitch sir, we’re sorry for the inconvenience. Please proceed.” “Stupid piece of tin,” Logan mumbles, once they are clear of the guards. And Gambit just laughs at him.

Opening Credits

Scene 4: The 2 heroes are waiting to board the plane. People are walking around, and some stare at the mutants. “Wadaya looking at Bub?” Logan says to a nearby man. “The people look away, and move on. “Geez, some people get it that we’re mutants, eh?” says Gambit.” “Psh, you ain’t kidding. And most think we’re the bad guys.” “Well, no matter,” Gambit says sitting back to relax. In the background, a man growls, “Mutants.” He takes out a wooden knife, and creeps up behind Gambit. “Remy, look out,” shouts Logan. Gambit jumps, out of his seat. When he pushes up, he accidentally ignites the chair. As the man lunges for a stab at Gambit, he misses and gets caught in a blast. (HA HA!!) Security quickly rushes over, and hauls the man away, thinking he had a small bomb. “Are you allright sir?” one asks Gambit. “Yeah,” he says bewildered. Security leaves, and Gambit turns to Logan, “How did you know?” “I heard him,” Logan says, with a coy smile. “So, how does it feel to be going back to your home country, Cajun?” Logan asks, changing the topic. “Oh, I can not wait. Perhaps we will meet up with some of my old gang.” “You mean bandits? I hope not. You French can be real jerks, especially the bandits . . . no offense.” “None taken mon ami,” Gambit says, “We Cajuns can be real tricksters.” “I’ve noticed,” Logan replies grinning. They share a laugh, and the boarding light comes on. “Flight 66 to Paris, now boarding at gate 4,” a voice says over the intercom. “That’s us,” says Gambit, who hurries to get on. “I was expecting flight 6-6-6,” Logan says, and follows Gambit aboard. They get on the plane and take their seats. “Would you like a pillow?” asks a flight attendant. “No thanks darling,“ says Logan. Gambit smiles, “Same for me. But chere, I would like to take you to the mile high club.” She slaps him across the face, and walks away. “Not good with the ladies are you Cajun?” “Shut up!” Gambit says, as he rubs his cheek. They buckle up, and the plane takes off.

Scene 5 (subtitles are used here): In a dark alleyway in the outskirts of Paris, a group of men are robbing a young woman. She screams for help. “Shut up,” says a tall man dressed in a black coat with a ski mask. He stabs her and she falls to the ground. “Take her away Jacque,” the man says to his companions. The other 2 men, also dressed in black with masks, drag her to a river, and dump her in.

Scene 6: The plane lands in Paris. Wolverine and Gambit get off the plane. “Man, that food was bad,” says Gambit. “No kidding. I’m surprised we survived it,” Logan replies. They go pick up their bags, and then walk out. “So how do we get a cab around here?” asks Logan. Then a strange man walks over, “Bonjour monsieur's.” “Bonjour, who are you?” asks Gambit. “My name is Pierre, I have been hired by Professor Page to take you to your hotel.” Both heroes look at each other, and shrug. Pierre takes them to a limo, and opens the door for them. They all get in the back, and Pierre gets in the front & drives off. “This is cozy,” says Gambit to himself, as Logan is not paying attention. He sniffs the air inside. “Well, I don’t smell anything funny.” “Relax dear Logan. You are going to like it here. The ladies are always friendly.” “Is that so? Well, I guess I’m going to have to look sharp,” says Logan. “Don’t you worry mon ami. I’ll find you a special girl.” “No thanks bub, I’d rather be alone.” “Suit yourself. Just don’t get grouchy when you see me with all the girls.”

Scene 7: The limo arrives at the hotel. They get out and enter the hotel. They approach the counter. “C, checking in monsieur's?” says a man behind the counter shaking. “Oui, give us a nice room,“ says Gambit as he puts a large bill on the counter. The man takes the money. “I have the best room waiting for you, courtesy of your friend Page.” He takes their bags, and takes them up to their room, and they follow behind. “Nice work, slick,” Logan says mocking Gambits bribery. “Here we are sirs.” They look at the door, which says room 206, and the man hands them the key. He puts their bags by the closet bed, and turns around. “If you need anything, just ring,” he says as he leaves. Logan goes to the window, and opens the curtains. The camera shows a beautiful picture of the Eiffel Tower. “Wow, that’s one big tower,” he says. “Oui, that’s the famous Eiffel Tower. Maybe after the mission I will show it to you.” "That would . . . be nice.” They lay down to relax, and put on the TV. The news program comes on, and it’s in French of course. Gambit stares with an odd look. “What are they saying?” Logan asks him. “A gang, robbed a woman.” “Crime & slime all over the globe, ain’t that why we’re here?!” “Yes, but the description they just gave . . . it sounds like my old gang.” “Oh?” “We were known as ‘The Marauders’. We were an evil gang who robbed anything from anyone and anywhere. We were an unstoppable force.” Logan cuts in, and asks: “So why did you quit, and join the X-Men?” “Things got rough.” “Ah, you went shrimp.” “They started killing people! For no reason. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I came to America.” “That’s tough, your old buddies turning like that. I’m sorry Remy.” Gambit gets up. “Don’t be mon ami. We have a job to do.” Gambit grabs his stick, and leaves. Logan is right behind him.

Scene 8: At the hideout of the evil gang known as The Marauders, the gang is relaxing, and 3 are playing cards. “I call,” says one of the members dressed in black. “3 kings,” says a thin looking man. “Full house,” says a husky looking man, and the other slams his cards to the table. “Royal Flush,” exclaims another.” “Sacre-blue!” says the husky man, grabbing the cards to look. Sure enough, he does have a Royal Flush, and they all share a laugh. Another man dressed in black walks into the room. “You will never guess who I just saw.” The others just give a whatever look, not understanding. “Remy,” he says, putting a picture of Gambit & Logan on the table. “What! Why is he back?” asks one of the men. “I don’t know, but he isn’t alone.” “We must prepare to meet them,” says the man in the black shirt.

Scene 9: Logan and Gambit are walking down the street. “This is it. Man, it’s been so long,” says Gambit, with a reminiscent pause. He goes to the door, and opens it. Logan thinks it is odd that the door would just be unlocked. “Wait!” he cries out, but it is too late. Quickly, 3 men attack Gambit, and pull him inside for a beating. Logan runs in to help, and slams one onto a wall. Gambit breaks free of a guy holding him, and punches him. The skinny man in black shorts steps out, “Welcome back dear Remy.” “Yes, I am back . . . to kill you.” The men laugh, and the 1st two attack with their sticks. Gambit dodges, and throws cards at them. They dodge, and the man in black throws cards of his own in retaliation. Gambit takes a hit, and falls. Logan goes to charge at the man in black, but is grabbed from behind. Wolverine snaps the man to the floor in front of him and punches his face. He continues to the man in black, who runs, like the coward he is. Meanwhile, the other two are giving Gambit a beating. In a flash, Logan has his claws out and slashes the both of them. He kneels by his friend, and looks at the card stuck in his gut. It is metal, and works like a ninja star. Logan picks Gambit up and leaves, but is stopped by a card. One strategically thrown into the back of his head. Logan falls, dropping Gambit. The man walks over to Gambit, and pulls out a giant knife that looks like a playing card. “Now to finish you.” However, he does not notice Logan springing to his feet. “Goodbye traitor.” Then he looks down, and sees 3 claws protruding through his chest. He moans, and falls over dead. “What have you done!?” cries a voice, and Logan turns to be tackled by the big husky man. He hits the man in the groin, and trips him. He gets up, and kicks the man in the head, then turns to grab Gambit, and leaves.

Scene 10: Back at the hotel, Logan is patching up the wounds Gambit received. “Ugh, thanks mon ami.” “No problem, I’m just pissed we failed the mission.” “No, you killed the leader.” “So he was the one who wanted to kill everyone?” Gambit nods. “I owe you one for saving my life. Thank you.” “What are friends for. Besides, I’m sure you’ll repay me one day,” he says with a grin. A hologram of Professor Page appears. “How is everything going?” “We got the job done,” Gambit exclaims.” “Good work gentlemen.” “But Gambit was hurt, he may need help.” “You should come home Remy, I will arrange a flight out for you.” “What about me?“ Logan asks. “You’re on vacation. I hear Venice is nice this time of year.” “Hmmm, sounds nice. I’ll go.” The 3 laugh, and Italian music plays as the scene fades out.
