Weevil Underwood

 

    

     Weevil Underwood is an strong insect duelist.  He has great skill with trap cards and effect monsters.  He could be a great duel master but he is a notorious cheater.  He won the regional champions and was invited to Duelist Kingdom.  On the boat ride over, he threw Yugi's rare Exodia cards overboard into the ocean.  Later he tricked Joey into dueling him and tampered with Joey's deck to make sure he would win, even though he lost.  Because of his cheating ways, Yugi decided he would be the first duelist he would face on the island and Weevil was booted off.  Other than his duelist career, not much in known about Weevil. 

 

Japanese Name:  Haga

Duelist Record - Regional Champion, No ranking in the Duelist Kingdom or Battle City Tournaments thanks to Yugi and Joey.

Favorite Cards - Great Moth, other insect cards

 

Overall importance to the Series:  6 out of 10.

     Weevil is a strong duelist and the struggle he presents the main characters is noteworthy.  Duel Monsters wouldn't be the same without him, though we could do without him.
