After Salvation

If you accepted Jesus Christ into your heart, you are a new person, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

When you accepted Jesus, the Holy Spirit came upon you also. Jesus speaks of this in John 7:38-39:

(38) "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
(39) But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

and also in John 14:26:

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Jesus also promises that He will never leave us in Matthew 28:20:

and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

and Hebrews 13:5-6 says:

(5) Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
(6) So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

So now that you are a born again Christian, what do you do now? You should try to become closer to God, and reading the bible, His word which He gave to us, is a good start. His word helps us learn how to become closer to Him and how to love Him, and it also comforts us when we are in a time of trouble. And if you think that there is nothing in the bible that will interest you, think again. The bible has a very wide range of stories, including battles, love stories, miracles God has done, and of course, the story of Christ's life.

Another step towards coming closer to God is praying to Him. He always listens to us, and prayer makes us feel His presence in our lives. Jesus promises us that He will give us anything we ask Him for if we believe we will receive it. Matthew 21:22:

"And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

Remember your relationship with Christ is just starting, but He will work incredible things in your life if you allow Him too. He knows what's best for us, and will always be there to take care of us.
