Something Old, Something New,
Something Borrowed, Something Blue
This was my very first quilt. Some wonderful women
in my ward helped me take my first steps into the quilting
world. Sister Chauncey loaned me the floral pattern,
something borrowed. The plaid pattern was a scrap I
found in my closet, something old. I purchased a sparkling
white fabric to brighten the quilt, something new. And of
course you can see my something blue.
Then & Now Quilt
When I was a little girl I had this bright pink
teddy bear "blankie" that I just couldn't sleep
without. I kept it on my bed clear into college
because the coolness of it next to my face always
put me to sleep. It wasn't until those later years
that my mother told me how she used to rub the blanket
softly against my cheek when I was a baby to put me to
sleep. Sweet motherly secrets. After all these years
the poor blanket had worn quite thin so I revived it by
piecing it with some new fabric and a soft fleece backing.
A Star Is Born
This quilt was combined effort. My husband
dreamt up the pattern and I put it together.
My Blue Heaven
This was the crib quilt, made as part of an
entire nursery set. We have finished diaper stackers
crib organizers, crib sheets and pillows, and curtains
in matching fabrics. All I have left is the bumper pads.
Leftovers are Always Best!
At least that is what my husband always says.
This quilt came from scraps and leftovers all over
I'm surprised it even matches, sort of. But it turns
out that it is one of Brett's favorites???
For Baby Rylee
This was my world-record-fastest-quilt-ever-made.
I guess that is what happens when you wait until
the last month to make a quilt and the mother goes
into labor earlier than you plan. Oh well, the quilt
and I survived. So did mom and baby, and hopefully
baby Rylee loves her pastel quilt.
Also For Baby Rylee
Sorry I don't have pictures of these latest
endeavors, but I haven't developed my film.
So you will just have to imagine from my pictures.
Hedging My Bets
A couple of friends of mine are planning on
becoming pregnant soon. I had some leftover
fabric so this quilt became the "is it going to
be a boy or girl" quilt.
