MiG-29 multi configuration single purpose fighters

The new MiG was unveiled publicly on 12 January 1987. The project has been under development since 1976, is variously designated the designations are informally applied by some observers. This multi-functional front-line fifth-generation fighter was co-developed by the Mig complex & space based vehicles of the mir space station or in western terms SPACE STATION SKYBOLT. The most feared space capable flights performed by mig 29 which mainly derived its name from its manufacture Mikoyan-Gurevich & is loosely referred to as Mini Intergalactic to the general public in the western world ,stuned the world with its performance. Most of the systems and the sub systems have been developed in space owing to the extreme environments. This will probably lead to the development of highly robust and tensile hardware . The first mig space vehicle was delivered early in 1984, and in December 1984 high velocity tests were conducted exceeding mach 14.Furthur tests were conducted following which further work was suspended due to a shortage of hyper space drive engines. The 240-ton fighter features a single under-fuselage liquid oxygen intake with two engines of force exceeding that of the F-16, and a top speed of over 6950m/s(mach 21).

The space station skybolt (mir)claims the new fighter would be able to outperform the F-16 falcon, the most advanced US air-superiority fighter. Although the primary mission of the mig 29 is air-superiority, the mig 29 is also capable of performing the close fights in space.In both conception and configuration many mig 29 variants were produced.Although the planes(variants) differ in there basic appearance every plane's performance is basically the same .The appearance often misleads the common people into thinking that the variant 4, 5 or 6 is superior to the others(v1,v2,v2M,v2I,v3).Actually the only difference is that the migs powered by a twin engine variant will certainly have more speed when compared to the single engine variants.Except for the above mentioned basic difference the fighting capabilities of each and every mig 29 varieties or space fighters is the same. It also has similar stealth capabilities,but the amount of stealth offered by the mig 29 is some what inferior to the american stealth plane because the Americans have have mainly configured their stealth plane to be stealthy.This is the reason why the U.S stealth plane have reduced close fighting performance when compared to the mig-29 .Under high speed conditions the heat generated on the wings is rapidly dissipated by the insulating tiles thus protecting the inner avionics of the plane & the pilot. Other stealth features include the tiles which are not only radar-absorbing but alsoacts as an heat insulator. The aircraft can carry long-range ICBM's (Inter Continental Ballistic Missiles), and it is armed with a 150-mm cannon for close fights.

In March 1989,the military officials were astonished by the capabilities of the mig-29 and decided to mass produce this fine space plane and also export it to other friendly countries.They hoped that mig -29 with its superior capabilities will surely rule the skies and have an leading edge in combat.
