Sierra P100 Pickup 1988 - 1994
The Sierra based P100 pickup was introduced in early 1988 to replace the previous Cortina based design. The P100 consists of a Sierra type cab and front suspension arrangement and Ford Transit type rear suspension.
- - 1753cc OHC Turbo Diesel engine. 4 Cylinder in-line. Indirect mechanical fuel injection with glow plug pre-warm. Max output 75PS (DIN) at 4500rpm. Max Torque 150Nm (DIN) at 2500rpm. (Mid 1990 onwards)
- - 1993cc OHC "Pinto" engine. 4 Cylinder in-line. Sequential twin venturi carburettor with automatic choke. Electronic breakerless ignition. Max output - 57kW at 4500rpm. Max torque - 143Nm at 2800rpm. Low compression pistons, compression 8.2:1 (differs from standard 2.0) Engine code: NAE.
- -1998cc DOHC engine. 4 cylinder in-line. Sequential twin venturi carburettor and electronic breakerless ignition. Max output 109PS (DIN) at 5600rpm. Max torque 174Nm (DIN) at 3000rpm.
- - 2304cc OHV Diesel engine. 4 Cylinder in-line. Indirect mechanical injection with Glow-plug pre-warm. Max output - 67PS (DIN) at 4200rpm. Max torque - 139Nm (DIN) at 2000rpm. 0-60mph time unavailable. Max Speed - 90mph. (Up to 1990)
- Transmission: 5-speed manual gearbox, but with different ratios. (See technical guide)
- Brakes: Front discs with 10.1 inch rear drums. Front-rear split hydraulic circuit with vacuum servo assistance. Load apportioning valve in rear hydraulic circuit.
- Suspension: Front: MacPherson struts with coil springs, telescopic shock absorbers and rearward-facing anti-roll bar. Rear: Live beam axle with leaf springs and telescopic shock absorbers.
