I am the ringer of the little egret which you have kindly been reporting as being seen at Chew.
First let me say a big thank you, as this bird's movement is of great interest to me... I have only just become aware of your sighting.
The bird was ringed as a nestling, one of a brood of four, on 22.05.2009, at a colony in Southern Hampshire. The interesting thing for me is that this individual was not one of the larger chicks and yet it has survived and dispersed much further away than most of mine do. Thanks again for the information, please also thank all of the other observers. I am very interested in future sightings of this bird .... Graham Giddens
