As mentioned, mudpuppies are found throughout the Great Lakes. DZS is collaborating efforts with other zoos to survey and determine if these amphibians face the same crisis as others. We already know chytrid is in the US and specifically in Michigan. We just don’t know how the fungus and other factors are affecting amphibians.
