THE HEART OF THE CARDS ...Trust in the Heart
EPISODE GUIDE
Episode # 1 - The Heart of the Cards The 1st show starts off with Yugi battling Joey at their school. Yugi wins as usual and Yugi offers Joey a lesson in Duel Monsters with his Grandfather. He says his Grandpa might even show them his special rare card. Kaiba overhears them and decides he will check to see if it's the card he needs. At Grandpa's shop, Yugi's grandfather shows the group the rare card, Blue Eyes White Dragon. Suddenly Kaiba shows up and offers Grandpa tons of money for the Blue Eyes. Grandpa did not accept and said that the card was given to him by a friend so he cherishes it as he would that friend. Kaiba challenged him to a duel so Grandpa was forced to go to Kaiba Crop to battle. Grandpa lost and as a prize, Kaiba took his Blue Eyes White Dragon. Kaiba then tore it in two pieces. Grandpa tells Yugi to teach Kaiba about the heart of the cards. It Yugi's turn to battle for the sake of his Grandpa. Yugi took Grandpa's deck, which he had spent his life developing. Tea and Tristan take Yugi's Grandpa to the hospital and Joey stays to cheer Yugi on. The battle was going along fine until Yugi found out that Kaiba had the other three Blue Eyes White Dragon cards and all three of them were on the field. Yugi then realized that he had 4 pieces of Exodia and only needed one more piece of the puzzle in order to release the Ultimate Monster. By believing in the heart of the cards and his Grandfather's hope, Yugi assemble all the pieces of Exodia and won the match against Kaiba, the Duelist Master. The purpose of this episode was to introduce the game and the characters. Only a small part of the plot was uncovered and the dueling was week, yet exciting and emotional. |
