        EPISODE GUIDE

          

               Episode # 7 - Attack from the Deep

          Joey was bragging about his recent victory over Mai Valentine.  Everyone was hungry until they spotted some fish cooking.  Yugi and his friend were stuffing their faces until Mako Tsunami a water duelist came out and caught them eating.  He introduced himself as Mako the Sea Duelist.  He allowed them to continue eating when he saw Yugi, but in return Yugi must battle him.  He tells them that when he was little, he and his father were caught in a storm on the sea.  His father tied him to the boat and when the storm was over, his father was gone.  Mako said that the life boat was also gone and he is positive that his father is still alive.

          Mako bring them to the field that they will battle on.  It is half land and half sea.  They both wager two star chips and the match begins.  Mako summons Fiend Kraken under the water portion of the field so Yugi can't see it or attack.  He decides to play Horned Imp but the water monster easily destroys it.  He plays Feral Imp with Horn of the Unicorn, thinking that electricity would be able to reach the monsters, but Mako plays his Jellyfish card to absorb the electricity and Feral Imp is destroyed too.  Yugi makes a mistake and sends out Silver Fang with Mystical Moon.  Mako plays Kairu-Shin deep in the water and Yugi's Silver Fang is destroyed.  There is only a tiny bit of land left and Yugi plays Giant Stone Solider in Defense Mode which takes up the rest of the land available.   Mako laughs and plays Great White Shark which will attack on his next turn.  Yugi uses his Giant Stone Solder to attack the moon and reverse the tides.  All of Mako's monsters are dried up and Yugi's Curse of Dragon easily defeats them all.  Mako gives up his star chips to Yugi and explains that he was dueling for his father.  Yugi wishes him luck and they depart as friends.

Episode Rating (1-10): 6.  This was a weak episode but we met Mako and learned about him.  To bad he won't be on again for almost 50 episodes.  He defiantly is dueling for the right reasons.  Other than that, this was a type of filler episode.
