THE HEART OF THE CARDS ...Trust in the Heart
EPISODE GUIDE
Episode # 16 - Scars of Defeat Pegasus holds a meeting with the Big 5 executives about Kaiba Corp. They want to take the company over and think the best way is to remove Kaiba from the picture. Pegasus reassures them that everything is under control and that they handled the Mokuba situation with ease. Now, Kaiba is coming to the island in his helicopter to get his brother back. The Big 5 offers to deal with him but Pegasus has other plans. As Kaiba travels he thinks about Yugi and the Heart of the Cards. He realizes his main goal is to take down Pegasus and Yugi is not his main focus. Meanwhile, Yugi and Bakura talk while the others sleep. The needle on the Millennium Ring points to Pegasus's castle. Bakura tells him that once, when Yugi and Joey were dueling at school, the ring did the same thing. It must have the ability to locate other Millennium Items. Later that night, Yugi remains awake and wonders about his other self. He also is determined to defeat Pegasus and save his grandfather. Just then a helicopter drops Kaiba near them. Yugi greets him and gives him his deck that he got from Pegasus's fake. Kaiba actually thanks Yugi. Joey gets offended when Kaiba starts talking like rules don't apply to him. He says Kaiba has to earn the right to challenge Pegasus like everyone else. Joey challenges Kaiba to a duel and he accepts. He wants to use Joey to test out one of his new inventions, the Duel Disk system. Every monster Joey sends out gets trashed. Nothing even slightly hurts Kaiba's monsters. He looses eight monsters and 1500 life points before drawing Red Eyes Black Dragon. His friends cheer him on but it is no use. Kaiba sends out Blue Eyes White Dragon and destroys Joey's monster and the rest of his life points. Joey falls to his knees and Kaiba makes fun of him calling him a stray dog. Yugi and Tea try to speak up for him but Joey shuts them up. Kaiba talks about a international tournament he attended. The final match was between Pegasus and Bandit Keith. Bandit Keith had drawn a card and was sure that he would win. Pegasus paid no attention to his confidence and wrote something on a piece of paper. He called a young kid from the audience and gave it to him and told him to follow the instructions. He announced that the kid would play the rest of the duel for him. Keith thinks he had surrendered and would use the kid as an excuse. He played his monster. The kid read the directions and played the cards Pegasus had written down. Sure enough it was the right card and Pegasus won. Kaiba wonders how he knew what Keith was going to play. Kaiba says he make the Duel Disk so Pegasus couldn't do the same to him. Yugi remembers when he dueled Pegasus and how he could see through Yugi's cards. Kaiba pack up and turns to leave. Yami Yugi says they are alike because they are both trying to get was was taken from the. He says he will take down Pegasus. Kaiba looks back and says they will have to see who gets there first.
