QUICK WHOLE WHEAT BREAD
QUICK WHOLE WHEAT BREAD
Preheat oven to 3750 F.
Sift into bowl:
- 1/4 cp flour
- 1 ts. baking powder
- 1 ts baking soda
- 1 ts. salt
Add:
2 cps whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cp melted butter (or butter buds for the heart healthy version)
- 1-1/2 cups sour milk -- if you don't have any sour milk, put a bit of
cider vinegar in the milk and let it sit a minute
- 1/2 cup molasses
Stir well. Spoon into buttered 9x5 loaf pan. Let
stand 20 minutes. Bake about 50 minutes until it passes the
"clean knife" test in the center.
