About GreyWolf
GreyWolf is a
Native American (1/8th) Shawnee by blood. He is originally from
California (fast paced and looking for the almighty dollar) and
brought up in a wealthy household that had almost everything from
living on a private street in a three story, six bedroom house, to
seven cars in the driveway (including a Mazarati, Mayflower, and
Model "A", and wished for nothing; other than Love,
Patience, and Understanding. After age twelve, was raised in Montana
in an alcoholic household. He found that Montana offered a slower
pace and centered more around Honor, Integrity, and helping your
neighbor. He also found that there was nothing wrong with hard work,
in one summer he stacked 14,000 bales of hay in two weeks (that's
1000 bales a day, or 100 bales an hour).
When he turned 17, he
joined the United States Army and served for four years. It's funny
how in boot camp they train you to become a soldier, but when you are
discharged, they fail to remind (train) how to be a civilian. After
just three months, he enlisted in the United States Navy to become a
Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician. After serving for
another four years and becoming an alcoholic himself, he was politely
released from service.
Returning to Montana
in hopes of finding sanctuary in his own alcoholism, he instead found
sobriety in Twin Falls, Idaho (don' ask he doesn't know why either).
Some two years later, after his head cleared, he was sent to an elder
(Grandfather) and learned of the old ways and was given many gifts.
One was a dream/vision of himself being one with the wolf. He asked
Grandfather about it and was told that that was to be "his way".
After Grandfather crossed over to the Spirit World, he began
searching for "his way".
He met up briefly
with another elder, Hymeosis Storm, whom was clever enough to not
reveal his identity until after his teachings were complete. When
GreyWolf turned 38, he thought that he'd found a good wife.
Unfortunately, she couldn't or wouldn't understand his native ways.
Just about the time he turned forty-two, he met an elder that
belonged to the Wolf Clan of the Allegheny Reservation of the
Iroquois. That elder believed that, though the time of teaching was
right, GreyWolf was in an unstable and distracting marriage and could
not be trained. When he was forty-four, his wife divorced him, and he
was again able to learn, and learn he has. In the Spring of 2002, he
was adopted into the Wolf Clan on the Allegheny Reservation of the
Iroquois.
