It's sort of an inside joke. About a year before we started exploring our interest in Kemeticism in earnest, we were having a conversation with a fellow Hellenic Reconstructionist, Todd Jackson. We had been talking about how the Egyptians had influenced the mysteries and the development of the Greek Magical Papyri when our friend replied, "Those wily Egyptians, They can do that to you." His offhand comment became a catch-phrase with us and any time that something absurd, mysterious, or conspiratorial crept up, we'd blame it on "those wily Egyptians." Now that we're the Wily Egyptians that we always joked about, the title seemed especially appropriate.
