LA and Las Vegas Trip (Dec 02)

So much to see, so little time, and so little money to spend there. And pictures are so expensive to develop too!
Advise: Las Vegas is for the rich..... do not go unless you are rich, or at least can afford to stay in one of the more decent hotels.... the experience is just not the same if you stay in some crappy place.

Must give special thanks to Yeky and his parents for making this trip such a memorial one.

Enough said, here are just some of the many many pictures:

Los Angeles:
This is in front of Disneyland, California. Look harder and you might see me in the picture, then look even harder to see the "California" behind me.
First one is the famous Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse Statue. Second one is some castle.... don't remember the name, but it is where you go in to see.... hummm.... think it is the Beauty and the Beast castle or something like that!
Hollywood. Yeah, home of many many celebrities. Did not see any on my trip. But I did get to meet some of them in Vegas (look down for details).
Universal Studios. Yup, this is where a lot of your movies come from. Nope, didn't see any movie on the set, because I went on Christmas Eve.
Remember this sign? I think you can see the similar one on Wheel of Fortune. That is Tingyou.
A fan of Notting Hill? Remember this book store? No, go watch the movie again! And don't fall asleep this time.
Meet some friends there. Man, Storm sure can spare more time for the gym and beauty parlor.

Santa Monica. This is where Bay Watch and countless seaside scene are shot. I went there on a Monday afternoon, so did not get to see the famous LA trademark: bikini blonde with fake boobs.
Long Beach, where they race cars. Calmer water compared to Santa Monica. Same, no LA trademark sighted.

USC (University of Southern California).
UCLA (University of California Los Angeles).

Las Vegas:
Yeah baby, sin city! Accept those annoying "roadside pimps" dishing out adult service pamphlets and flyers, 24/7 non-stop gambling, numerous strip bars (did not go, no chance) and drive thru wedding chapels, nothing else seem sinful. It is more like city with nicely integrated performances, technology and lavish architecture.
Caesar's Palace. One of the nicest hotel on the strip. Very impressive exterior and interior.
Luxor. So say that the beam from Luxor is the only one that astronauts can see from outer space. The famous Pyramid and Sphinx hotel casino.

MGM. Plenty of golden lions in and outside the hotel. Just not sure if it is real gold or just some polished golden coloured metal.
New York New York. Manhattan themed hotel casino. Wanted to go onto the roller coaster, but is was sooooooooo expensive. Hey, poor students on road trip, what do you expect!

Paris. We were really fortunate to be able to stay here for 2 nights. Our room got the musical fountain view over at Bellagio. Fantastic! If I have checked in earlier, I wouldn't have wasted my time standing at Bellagio waiting for the musical fountain shows.

Met some "people" in Vegas. Sure is a small world =)
The Rock -- Not that "big".
Saw Bush Jr too. He was stuck in his speech (as usual), so I went up to help him out a bit lor.
Yes, Madonna, correct.
Another not so "big" one. He is only slightly taller than me!
My trip to the Moon
Also seen people like Arnie, Jerry Springer, Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster, Harrison Ford, Nicolas Cage, Sean Connery, Brad Pitt and Buffy.
And he is real! Jacky Cheung. There are 2 kinds of singer, those who can sing, and those who can't. He belong to the can sing category. And he really can sing.
