Boarding ActionPyrates are known for their fighting skills. Shipholds like regular Houses in SCA, sponcer fighters, but ships are more likely to sponcer Rapier fighters. Meridien Rapier is not fought with rattan sticks and heavy plate armor. Instead they use steel schlagers with rubber tips and protective clothing (primarily). This lighter equipment allows for greater mobility about the field and more theatrical antics when appropriate. A schlager is a steel blade with no edge or point that was made for simulated fencing such as you might see in a production of Hamlet. These Theatrical Rapiers have the right feel, motion, and weight distribution to enable the active study of historic rapier techniques.
