undefined     Hello, my name is Heidi Hurst.  Ever since I was little I wanted to grow up to be a veterinarian.  I have always been fascinated with animals (all species) and always wanted my own zoo (but my mom would never let me).

Going into the career field as a veterinarian fits my lifestyle because of my love for animals.  I couldn’t imagine living in a world without animals.  People can learn so much from them.  I know that being a vet will not take over my life, but only enhance it to where I can live my life to the fullest.  This career is something I strongly believe that I will enjoy, love, and respect to where it could never take over my life.

Veterinarians make a decent living on the salaries they make and by the time I become one, the salary rate will have increased and I will be well off.  I plan to have my own business so I will be looking at bringing around $100,000 or more a year.  I currently do not have a family but I do plan on having one later in life.  I feel confident that I will be able to support my family on the salary I will be making as a vet.  I will support them to the best of my ability while I am working in this career field.

A lot of people face the difficulties of not being able to stay secure in their career field, but I am very confident that I will not have a problem finding a job working for someone else or starting my own business.  There has always been a demand for veterinarians and as the years go by, I believe the demand for this particular career field will continue to increase, and with that comes steady employment.  If for any reason I have trouble getting things started with my own business, I know I can always go into practice with someone else.  If it comes down to me having difficulty doing that, I will be willing to make my way in the job market to find a job that can support me and my family.

In many career fields people have to endure training and more training.  That is the case in my career field.  No one person can have too much or enough training as a veterinarian.  In most cases, once a person completes the schooling necessary to begin employment, they tend to find a job right away.  I feel that the amount of schooling needed to start employment will lead me to find immediate employment status.  However, throughout the years I know I will have to complete more training to make sure I am up to par on everything.

I am self-assured that being a veterinarian is the career field that will satisfy my life dreams.  I know that I will be happy when the day actually comes of me becoming a veterinarian.
