Albion Crecy

I ordered Albion's newest NextGen, the Crecy XVIa!!! In case you haven't figured it out yet, dark green is my favorite color. And since my
"green" AT1518 has long since faded to black, I've decided to reverdify my armory a bit, and go for the custom grip color option. It's a mottled dark green that gives a very organic look, and combined with the ribbed texture, adds layers of dimensionality. This is the "war sword" version of the XVI (like my Squire), and can be used in one or two hands. It has a broad, fullered cutting upper section that tapers to a nasty ridged thrusting point. In addition
to being a "jack of all trades" sword, it is I think the most physically attractive type. Designer and master swordsmith Peter Johnsson describes it as a
"greyhound" of a sword, and he's absolutely right- this baby is sleek but strong, beautiful but quite deadly. It's no wonder it is on track to become
Albion's top seller.

I'm trying to save up for a scabbard from Russ Ellis at Tritonworks , but grad school is hardly a lucrative endeavour.

September 2007:
I finally got a decent digital camera, so hopefully some of these new pics look okay.
