Chapter 21

“Hey Padme, is it true that both you and Anakin have passed the Jedi Trails yesterday?” Gwyn looked up from her lunch.

“Um . . . oh, hey, Gwyn. Sorry, I am still very sleepy. Yes, we did pass, and it was very hard and also very tiring too. So, now we are just waiting for the Knighting Ceremony.” Padme sat down at the table with her friends.

“I bet it was very tiring. Do you know what branch you will be going into, after you are Knighted?” Luna asked, as she also noticed that Anakin was not with Padme.

“Well, I am thinking about being one of the Guardians. Oh, he is still asleep, but he will be joining us for dinner, unless he has other plans.” Padme could tell what both girls were thinking.

“Man, I forgot that you can read minds.” Gwyn looked up from their table and saw one of their friends that she had not seen in a very long time.

“Hey, Ashla. It has been a very long time since we have seen each other.” Luna said, when the girl stopped by their table.

“Hey, guys. Yes, it has been really a very long time, since we were all together. I have missed you guys so much.” Ashla sat down with her friends. The girls sat there and caught up on what has been going on in their lives, but they were interrupted when Padme’s com-link went off and it was Nyckol calling.

“See you guys later at dinner, unless something else comes up. It was so great to see you again, Ashla.” Padme stood up, said bye to her friends and headed up to her quarters.

“You wanted to see me, Nyckol?” Padme walked into the room.

“Yes, we are needed at the Council Chamber, to see what our next mission will be.” Nyckol looked up from her data pad, as Padme came into the room.

"Um . . . ok, but if we are away on a mission, then I will miss the Knighting Ceremony.” Padme looked a little sad, when she thought about not being here for the Ceremony.

“Well, then, we will have to wait until the next time the Ceremony happens again.” Nyckol came over to Padme and put her hand on the girl’s shoulder.

“Ok, I guess I will have to wait until then.” Padme sighed, then she followed her Jedi Master out of the room and followed her to the Council Chambers.

When Padme walked into the room, she noticed that the room was very dark. Then, she heard the sound of lightsabers coming on and lighting up the whole chamber.

“Padme, come up to me, please.” Master Yoda motioned for Padme to come up to him.

It was then, she realized what was going on. She knelt down on her knees, before Master Yoda, as she bowed her head to the Grand Jedi Master.

“By the right of the Council, but the will of the Force, I dub thee Knight of the Republic.” Yoda recited the ancient passage, just before he lowered his blade to her shoulder. With a swift motion, he cut loose Padme’s Padawan braid and it fell to the floor in front of her.

“So, young one, do you know what branch of Jedi the Force lead you to Jedi Knight, Padme?” Yoda motioned for Padme to stand up.

“I kept having visions and what I saw was myself as a Jedi Guardian. I saw myself doing stuff off of Coruscant and doing things for other worlds.” Padme looked down at the Grand Jedi Master.

“That is good to hear. Meditation time, it is.” Master Yoda looked up and nodded his approval of the choice that she has made.

Padme nodded, left the room and headed to her quarters. As she got off the turbo-lift, she saw Anakin walking out of his quarters.

“Hey, I am so happy for you, Paddy. Let me take you to dinner tonight, so the two of us can celebrate.” Anakin smiled down at Padme, when he saw that she was now a Jedi Knight.

“Sure, that sound so great. Oh my, Ani, you are a Jedi Knight too!” Padme just realized that he too was Knighted.

So, it was later that day, that both Anakin and Padme left the Temple and went to a very small and quiet restaurant. They had a very peaceful dinner together, before heading back to the Temple, only to find out that they both had new quarters, which was two floors away from Nyckol and Obi-Wan. Once they finished their meditation, Padme went over to Anakin’s new quarters. They made love to each other, before falling sound asleep in each other’s arms.
