Chapter 11

A loud moan woke up Padme. She laid there for a few minutes, trying to figure out where it was coming from and then, she heard it again.

“ No . . . No . . . Mommy . . . Daddy . . . NOOOO!” Telayah cried out, before sitting up in the bed and had a very frightened look on her face.

“ Hey Telayah, it’s ok . . . It’s ok . . . Am right here!” Padme jumped out of her bed and came over to the frighteedn Togruta.

Padme sat down on the bed, pulled the terrified girl into her arms and held the girl, while she broke down.

“ Am so sorry to wake you up, Padme . . . I thought . . . the nightmares ended.” Telayah cried even harder.

“ Shhh . . .It is ok . . . Am here for you.” Padme repeated, as she began to rock back and forth, as she cradled the young girl to her.

Telayah began to doze back to sleep, as the rocking rhythm Padme continued, help her to to sleep. When Padme realized that Telayah had fallen back to sleep, she gently laid Telayah down on the bed. She also laid down and pulled the frightened girl close to her and held her, while she slept and Padme also fell back to sleep.

Two hours later, Telayah woke up and saw Padme sitting on the other bed.

“ Thank you, Padme.” Telayah sitting up in her bed.

“ You are welcome. Are you ok? Do you want to talk about it? If not, I understand.” Padme looked over to the Togruta.

“ Yes, am ok. At the moment, I don’t want to talk about.” Telayah stood up and walked across the room.

Padme just nodded and watched Telayah walk out of the room. She also noticed that she sounded a little angry. Padme got up and got dressed, before heading out of the room, and headed for the kitchen.

“ Good morning, Padme. Can I get you a cup of Caf?” Shmi turned to see the young lady coming into the kitchen.

“ Morning, Mrs. Lars. Yes, please, that would be great.” Padme went to the table and sat down.

“ Please call me, Shmi. I hope that you slept well” Shmi grabbed two cups and pour the Caf into the cups.

“ Thank you. Yes, I did sleep well.” Padme watched Shmi put the cups down on the table.

“ To bad that Anakin could not stay. Did he say where he was going and when will he be back here?” Shmi went over to the counter and grabbed the sweetener and milk then brought them to the table.

“ Yes, it is bad that he could not stay. Am not sure where he had to go, but he did tell me that he will be back here in two weeks.” Padme put some sweetener and milk into her Caf.

“ So, you told me that you are no longer in the Senate. What are you doing now?” Shmi asked, as Telayah came into the kitchen.

“ Yes, I am no longer a Senator. Three months ago, I gave birth to twins. Now, am retired and living in the quiet country.” Padme took a sip of her Caf.

“ Good morning, Telayah. Would you like for me to get you a cup of Caf?” Shmi asked the young girl.

“ Yes, please, that would be nice. Padme, what will happen to me, when we leave here?” Telayah came over to the table and sat down across from Padme.

“ Well, you can go back to your village and see if any of your family is still there, or you could come to my house and stay with me.” Padme saw sadness come across the Togruta’s face, before a small smile showed up.

“ I really would like to stay with you, because I know there isn’t anyone alive at my village, or even there.” Telayah nodded her thanks to Shmi for the Caf.

“ Ok. Then, you will be living with me. When we leave here, we will head back to my country home.” Padme smiled back at the young girl.

After breakfast, Shmi took the two girls with her to Mos Espa, to pick up a few supplies that she will be needing for the whole month.
