Price (Henry) House
232-6 Main Street Annapolis
Rev. Henry Price, a lay minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church, was a civic leader and businessman in Annapolis. Daniel Hale Williams, Rev. Price's grandson, lived in this house in the 1870s and was later known for his pioneering work as the first successful open heart surgeon in 1893. Dr. Williams also distinguished himself as the first black to head the Freedman's Hospital in Washington D.C. and was the founder of Provident Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. For many years Price House was occupied by Embassy Options in downtown Annapolis.
