The setting of the game is identical with the Genesis version (the same heroes and villains, the same modes), but it's very different graphic-wise and sound-wise. The heroes also have different moves. This is no strange, since the two versions were developed by different programming teams. The sprites in the SNES version aren't as good as the Genesis versions, since they are smaller with less detail and inferior animation. The backgrounds, however, are much better. Much more detailed and colorful compared to the Genesis versions. |

The sound is also a lot better. Each hero/heroine has his/her own music depending on their personality. Batman has a mournful gothic melody, Superman a heroic fanfare etc. The SFX are adequate. Apart from the sprites, this is a better game compared to the Genesis version. But still, it is average and a waste of a great license. |
