This game could be titled ''The Adventures of Batmobile'', since there is no action with Batman but rather it is a racing combat game, pretty similar to the racing levels of the Batman Returns game for Sega CD. Everything in the graphics and gameplay of this game bring the classic Sega-CD game to mind. The problem is that Batman Returns was released in 1993, when there weren't any 3D racing games, and the best available were ''scaling'' racers the likes of Top Gear for SNES. However, when ''Adventures'' was released, there were new consoles on the block and new and impressive (at the time) racing games like Ridge Racer 1, Daytona and Sega Rally for the (then new) Sony Playstation and Sega Saturn. Not to mention that the Sega-CD was dying and its owners were few. So the game did not repeat the huge success of Batman Returns. However, it is slightly superior. |

The graphics are excellent for a 16-bit racing game. Fluid scaling and detailed backgrounds and vehicles. There is also great variety. The SFX are good, but the music is pretty irritating. The controls are pretty similar as well to Batman Returns, but this time there are more weapons and capabilities in the vehicles, the Batmobile for the first few levels and the Batwing for the final level. Overall, this is a pretty decent game that is worth playing if you are a Batman fan. There is also a cheat code. While playing pause the game and press B, A, Down, B, A, Down, L, Up, C. |
