The intro movie to Batman Vengeance is amazing. Sadly, that's about the only thing that's amazing. It turns out that this title is just another run-of-the-mill side scrolling platform game. That's not the problem, the problem is that it's not a very good one. The movies look great, with little cinemas and pictures that rival those found in the PlayStation 2 version of the game. The in-game graphics, however, are not as spectacular and are very similar in quality to SpiderMan 2: The Sinister Six on the Game Boy Color. Yeah, not Advance, Color. |

The scrolling is smooth, but there isn't much variety in the enemies you will encounter. Again, the sound effects of the little cinemas are amazing, but the in-game music and sounds are also lackluster. The control scheme is easy enough; jump, throw batarang, jump, throw, run, jump; that's pretty much it. Determined fans of the Dark Knight will rejoice, as there are a good number of levels, ensuring hours of jump, throw batarang, jump, throw, run, and jump. Overall, Batman Vengeance is a pretty decent game for someone who loves Batman, but a not-so-good game for someone who is just a casual fan. GBA has much better platform games, including Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 or Sonic Advance. |
