Episode 5, "The Fruits of Temptation"
Written by Greg D’Angelo
Idea by & Peter Gilmour
Scene 1:
We see a hottie girl dancing, while some club music is playing. The camera pulls off her, and we see a college party taking place. The camera moves to the door where we see Connor enter. A man walks over to him, "hey, Connor, you made it." "Hi," replies Connor, and the two shake hands. "Let me get you a drink." Connor nods, and they walk off.
Connor picks up a beer, but there is no bottle opener. Joey (from "The Changeling") sees Connor, and walks over, and hands him an opener. "I never got to thank you for clearing my name." "It’s ok."
The night goes on, and everyone has a good time. Connor does not stay to long, as he is not one to slack off, and goes back to his dorm room to get some sleep. The next morning he wakes up, and there is a woman next to him.

Scene 2:
Connor, noticing the stranger, quietly gets out of bed. She notices his movement and looks at him with a seductive smile. "Who might you be?" he asks. "I might be a friend, I can be whatever you want." "I meant in name!" "I have many names."
"What is your real name?" "They are all real. Different people call me different names." "Moving on then, why are you here?" "Isn’t it obvious? I want you?" "Take a number!" "You don’t find me attractive?" "I find you annoying." She laughs, I can read your mind you know." "Then you know I can kill you." She laughs harder. "I think you will find that quite difficult." "Really?" he asks. She nods, he runs at her, and jumps over her, and grabs her from behind, but cannot grasp her.
"I am incorporeal, I cannot be touched." "Sucks to be you then." "I however can touch you," she replies touching his face. He backs away, "Sorry lady, not interested." "Fine, I am not here for that anyway. We can keep this strictly professional." "Then you won’t mind coming back at a later time, when you make an appointment?" She walks to the door, and turns around."I’ll be back," she says with a wink."
Scene 3:
Connor is leaving class, and walks down the hallway. He runs into Sally, who is in a wheel chair. "Hey, you’re back." "Yes, I am." "On your way to class?" "Yeah, walk me?" "Sure."
Scene 4:
Connor is talking to Sally by a classroom. "So you have a ghost in your room," says Sally. "I don’t think so, ghosts are not so talkative, and this being seemed untouchable." "Ghosts can’t be touched." "Yeah, but you’ll still feel their energy." "True." "This thing, seemed to want something, and I don’t know if it will give up." "Well, we’ll talk later, I got to get into class." She gives a smile, and says to take care.
Connor turns and walks back the other way, when he sees the incorporeal female. "You know, I could make her walk again." "She will walk again," Connor replies smugly." "I mean soon. Then again, I could also insure she stays in her condition." "Damn it! This is between us. Whatever you want, just say it. And keep this between us." "Very well, I can make you happy, I’ll give you anything you want, and I won’t asks much in return. A girl, money, cars, . . . even . . ." A picture of Cordelia flashes in Connor’s mind. "I assure you, I am all powerful, & can do anything." "Then why would you need me?
"You are smart. There are things I cannot do, they are against the rules, but there is nothing that states I cannot hire someone to do it for me." Connor rubs his eyes. "And why do I get this bad feeling." "Oh, it’s nothing bad. Perhaps a little, tiny, murder." Connor draws a blank expression. "Oh don’t worry, it won’t be anyone you know, and your reward will be worth it. You can use it for anything you like, even to make this pathetic world better." "Can I use it to eliminate murder from the world?" "Nice try, but no." "Can’t blame a kid for trying." "I’ll give you credit there, that is why I chose you for this, you have quite the brain to match your other skills." "It’s to bad, we won’t be able to make that deal then." "We will," she says, and then disappears.
Scene 5:
Connor walks back to his room, but stops. He does not feel like going there. He turns and goes for a walk. He sees a woman walking, and she takes out some keys, and head towards a parking lot. Out of no where someone grabs her purse, and runs, Connor trips him, and he falls down. "Oh, that was the wrong thing to do punk." "Whatever," says Connor. He picks up the purse, and gives it to the lady.
"Look out!" she says, and the guy hits Connor from behind. He falls hard, and the guy continues to beat on him. Connor tries to block and move, but the attack is to hard. Soon he starts bleeding, and the guy is laughing. "This’ll teach you a lesson." Campus security pulls the man off Connor, and he sits up.
One of the guards is female, and is the entity bearing the fruit of temptation. "I told you I could do anything, that includes giving & taking. Let’s see how you like living as any other human." "Fine, I never asked for my strength. I don’t want to be a hero, I don’t want to be special & deal with creatures like you. So good, take it away, so I can live like a normal person!" "You . . . you are infuriating! You have to many damn scruples!" With that she disappears again.
Scene 6:
Connor walks back into his room, and sees nothing is there. His jaws practically drops, but he does not need to wonder where it went. He goes into the bathroom & washes up. When he lifts his head he see the many named woman in the mirror. He turns, "are you going to again tell me how you can do anything?" "No, I think you got that. However I will point out that you will find it really hard to live the life of a hero or a normal person with my constant interference."
"So, you’re saying I make this deal & you go away?" "Exactly." "And what if I don’t?" "Then I will have to keep asking you. I’m sorry, but you really must understand, I need your help." "Need, huh?" he says rather doubtfully. "You seem quite capable of taking care of yourself." "I told you, I cannot . . ." "Yes, you cannot murder, but you could find other ways of dealing with your enemies." The woman laughs.
"You’re one of those guys that just doesn’t know how to give yes for answer." "And you’re one of those demons my father warned me about." "Oh, I am more then a demon. I am the mother of all demons, I am what spawns evil." "That’s quite an impressive resume."
"No, I will ask you one last time, will you work for me?" "That, I cannot do." "Why not, you’ve made such deals before." "That was different." "Did you know Sahjhan when you killed him? No! You sought to kill him cause the deal was good." No, I killed him cause I had no choice." "And what makes you think you have a choice here?" "You can’t harm my family," replies Connor with a coy smile. "Clever," she replies.
"Now you shall give me what I want or die" "Correct me of I’m wrong, but you can’t kill right? I mean your sole power is to annoy me to death." "You are amusing boy. Super beings are not protected by that rule, I can kill you!" With that she slaps him, and he goes flying into the other room.
She slowly walks over, grabbing a knife on her way. Connor gets up, and she slashes at his stomach, but he jumps back, taking only a minor cut. He throws a punch, but again he cannot connect. She however kicks him, and he falls to the floor, she then moves to stab him.
Scene 7:
Connor reaches for the knife to grab it, but even that is incorporeal. Connor rolls out of the way, but gets stabbed in his arm. Once more he gets up, and so does the woman. Angel appears. "Do you know how to beat this thing?" "No, but you do." "I tried everything." "To win, you must know what are you fighting?" Connor stairs, not knowing the answer. "Answer the question, what are you fighting?"
The woman walks toward Connor. "I’m fighting a demon!" he cries out. "What demon?" asks Angel. Connor looks around. "I, I don’t know." "Yes you do." He then looks down, and sees blood pouring off of him, he sees the blood on his hands from his wound.
"It is my demon." "You foolish boy, even Daddy can’t help you now." She is near Connor, and lifts the knife to him. He looks back to Angel. "Trust in that son, the rest is up to you. You know the answers!" Angel says, and then he disappears.
She swings the knife towards his heart, but it goes through him, as if he is now incorporeal. "Nooooo!" she screams. "How can this be?" "As if you didn’t know? You’re an illusion, all you can show are images." Connor walks away and sits down on something that can’t be seen. "You have no control over anything corporeal, which is why you need to tempt people into doing it for you. Not because of any rules, because there are no rules.
"I will cut you open," she says. "You’ll find that quit hard to do as you can’t touch me. I figure you out, you’re incorporeal, you can only make think you hit me." She again screams, and she fades away, this time into nothingness. When she is gone, and all of Connor’s things come back, sure enough he is sitting on the couch. He looks back at his arm, and it is unhurt.
All of a sudden, Connor wakes up in his bed. He looks around, with a confused look. "It was a dream," he mumbles. "I've lost my mind, that’s all," and with that he laughs. He lays back down, and closes his eyes.
Scene 8:
Connor is visiting Sally at the hospital. "What do you think it means," he asks her. "I think it was a dream." "It was to real for that. It seemed like a sign of things to come." "Sometimes there are signs. Will you know when they come, and will you be able to sort out what is merely a coincidence?"
Connor just nods. "So, I any chance of getting out of this place soon?" "You bet! All the doctors agree, I am doing much better. I should be out & about in a few weeks." "It’ll be great to have you back at school." He holds her hand, and the camera zooms in on it.
