Episode 6, "Wings Of Evil"
Written by Greg D’Angelo

Scene 1:

We see a skull on the floor, and the camera zooms out to show a excavation site. We see archeologists digging about the area. One stops, "I hit something he says!" He kneels down, and starts pulling up dirt with his hands, till he finds the object he has found.

A man dressed in a fine suit comes over. "What is it?!" "Look," says the digger, pulling up a fancy scepter. The man in the suit grabs it. "You have done well, this looks valuable." "What is it Dr. Octavious." "It’s a scepter, a symbol of power in great kings. Some are even said to have magic powers."

"Magic?" "Don’t be ridiculous, there’s no such thing. Just like there is no curse on anything we find." "Yeah, just superstitious legends." "That’s right, now when ready you may go back to digging. Your hard work will be rewarded."

Scene 2:

Dr. Octavious in driving in a car, and comes to a traffic jam. "Damn, this is just my luck. Why must the world wait for such important discoveries?

He gets out and starts pacing, he notices some ruffians about, and reaches in to grab his staff. However they just walk by. He looks back to the traffic jam, and notices nothing is really happening, no accident, no police stopping people.

"Damn it, can’t you people just get out of my way? Some people have places to be!" He gets back in his car, and slams the door shut. He starts to reverse the car to find another way to go, but stops. All the people are now gone.

Scene 3:

Connor is sitting in a classroom, listening to the professor (female) talk about the ancient world. "And then Caesar got rid of the homeless, by giving them land in other provinces. The people loved him, they wanted to give him absolute power. The senate, however, hated him. They wanted him gone, and so they killed him. Later his step son came to power. Now Augustus was a bit smart then Julius, he took absolute power of Rome, but always knew how to not let people on. He always said he restored the republic, he knew that even when one has absolute power, they must give a facade of freedom."

"Sound like anyone else?" asks the professor. "Yeah," says a student, "politicians." "That’s right. Many make secrete deals, and try to dictate what we do, how we should think, and even what we should believe. Of course it’s a bit harder today, and one must be even more discrete then Augustus, but it still happens. And Look at the time, that’s all we have time for. Remember, learn from history. Also, do not forget your reports are due next week."

Scene 4:

Connor walks out of the classroom, and two other guys pass him. "Man, I thought I was gonna get stuck in a boring class, but she makes it sounds so interesting." "Yeah, love, war, secrete deals. History’s not all that bad." "So have you done this project thing?" "No, I guess I’ll drop by the museum this weekend." "You’re such a slacker!" "Like you’ve done it?" "I'm working on it." "Not like Connor, here. I bet he has his done." "Connor stops, "actually, no. I haven’t gotten a chance yet." "What, you?" says the second guy, "why not come with me tomorrow? We can hang afterwards." "Sure Tony, I’ll meet you there at about four."

Scene 5:

Connor walks up the steps to the museum, and Tony comes up behind him. They enter, and walk around. They pass through a chamber of weapon. Tony is in awe, but Connor seems not to care.

"This stuff is cool," says Tony." "Yeah, I guess." They pass through other exhibits, including paintings and Egyptian stuff. Then they finally come to a room with only a scepter in the center, it is the one that was dug up earlier. Tony walks over. "Hey, what do you suppose this is?" "Um, a scepter of some kind, but there's no information on it." Connor replies looking at the blank plaque next to the exhibit. "To bad, it would have made a nice piece to talk about in my report. Oh well."

"Hey, what are you kids doing in here?" says an angry voice. They both turn and see a security guard. "Just looking," says Tony. "Well you shouldn’t be in here, this room is off limits." says the guard pointing to the sign on the door that says ‘keep out unless authorized.’

The boys walks out. The guard follows behind them, then shuts the door, but he find it won’t stay shut. "damn door," he says.

Scene 6:

In some other room 2 men watch what just happened on a monitor. One is Dr. Octavious, and the other is the museum owner. "Won’t you please excuse me, I need to check on this." "Of course, I must be running along myself" replies Dr. Octavious. The men walk out, and go their separate ways. "What a fool you are," mumbles Dr. Octavious to himself. "I sell you a fake and keep the real for myself."

Scene 7:

Connor is walking, when he stops to look at a house. "OK, that’s new he says." He continues down the street, and sees other things have changed, houses are gone, and a lake has appeared. "Everything, . . . has changed." Connor walks back, and we see other people are also staring at the house in awe. He walks over to look at the house, but a voice booms, "step away impudent fool!" He turns to look, but sees nothing. Then a stone gargoyle jumps off the roof. Connor puts out his hand, "hey how’s it goin`?"

The gargoyle throws a punch, but Connor easily blocks it. He tries to kick out it’s legs, but it seems to have no effect. It roars and comes forward to bite Connor, but he ducks and rolls underneath it. Connor springs up, and throws a punch into it’s back. Unfortunately, his hand gets stuck inside to gargoyle.

The creature lunges about, trying to shake him off, but no effect. Angrily, the gargoyle lunges out to the street, and chasses after other people. Connor grabs onto a sign pole and rips it out of the ground. He swings it into the stone creature’s neck, and beheads it. He then hacks at the rest of it, till it is no more. He drops the pole, and catches his breath.

Scene 8:

Dr. Octavious walks out of the museum, but stops when he gets to the bottom of the stairs. "No, this will not do, he opens his brief case and pulls out the real scepter. His body changes, he grows taller & stronger, as well as sprouting wings on his back. He then takes flight. "it is time for me to take over this pathetic city."

Scene 9:

A man sits behind a desk, his name plague says mayor. He is filling out some forms, when the ceiling crashes in and Dr. Octavious flies in. "Mr. Mayor." "Yes?" "It’s time for you to resign," demands Octavious as he grabs the mayor by the collar and lifts him up. "Or die!" he adds.

Scene 10:

Dr. Octavious is flying, & is enjoying his super powers in a childlike fashion. When out of no where something hit him. The police are on the ground, and they are firing at him. Octavious stops and hovers. He takes out his scepter and takes aim at them. "He’s got some kind of weapon," says a cop. "He’s gonna fire, take cover!" yells another cop.

A fireball shoots at them, most escape it’s wrath, but some are caught & injured. Octavious looks up, "even better" he says wickedly to himself. The sky starts spuing lightning bolts at the cops, and they are forced to retreat. Dr. Octavious just laughs at them.

He flies down, and grabs one. "You fools. Do you not know that I am a god now? I am now in charge! This pathetic order you call democracy will soon end. All who wish to worship me, can make offerings at my castle."

Scene 11:

Connor walking away, when he feels the Earth shake. He looks back, and sees the large house is now a castle that takes up the whole block. He runs back to the entrance, kicks the door open, and enters.

Dr. Octavious flies back to the castle, and lands on the roof. "Fe fi fo fum, I smell the blood of an unwelcome man. Minions, bring him to me!"

Scene 12:

Connor is walking around. He goes over to a wall, and grabs a sword off a display. Two gargoyles comes up behind him, but he hears them. He swings around and chops one’s head off, then ducks, and chops the other’s leg off. He quickly hacks it apart and then does the same to the other. Connor then moves on.

Scene 13:

Connor is in a room with suits of armor around. "Enough!" boom Dr. Octavious, who then comes crashing through a wall. Connor is in shock at the being before him, but has no time for questions.

Octavious throws a ball of fire at him, and he jumps out of the way. Another follows and he grabs a shield of a display of armor to block it. "Impressive, one of your skill & strength would be welcomed as my head soldier." "You’re asking me to join you?" asks Connor, somewhat suprised. "Yes, I am not about destruction, just power. And together we can take over the whole world!" "You’re delusional if you think I’ll help in that, I’m here to stop you!"

Octavious roars and flies at Connor. When he is near, Connor swings his sword, it hits the scepter, and sparks fly. They clash for a while, then Dr. Octavious looks behind Connor. Connor notices the look, but has no time to react. The suit of armor behind him comes alive, and grabs him.

All Connor can do is grab it’s sword arm, and prevent it from stabbing him, while attempting to fend off Octavious as well. Octavious back away from Connor, and points his scepter at him. It begins to glow, and a fire ball zooms at Connor. Connor spins around, and the armor takes the hit. He still takes some impact, and is flung through a wall.

Scene 14:

Connor gets up, and realizes his sword is gone, buried somewhere. He does the only maneuver he can, he runs. Of course Dr. Octavious follows him. Once outside, Octavious begins throwing more fire at him, and Connor keeps dodging. Connor spots something, a construction site, and heads for it.

Scene 15:

A police officer is in a car, and spots Dr. Octavious chassing Connor. He grabs the radio, "I've spotted the creature, he’s heading into a construction site on 10th avenue. He is chasing a civilian, I’m going in. Back up is needed."

Scene 16:

Connor runs past some workers. One stops, "hey, you can’t go in there kid. Get out!" Connor ignores him, and head to a vehicle. He pushes a man out of the bulldozer, and drives it right back to Octavious, who barely sees him coming. Connor raises the plow, and it slams into the Doctor, and pins him down.

Octavious merely weaves his scepter and the plow is knocked out of the way. Connor gets out, and tackles the fiend, grabbing his scepter. They both roll across the construction site. Struggling for control, and both getting dirty. Connor finally takes control and pummels away, but Octavious blocks with his wings, and manages to hit back.

Octavious then has control, and throws Connor into the beginnings of the building. He hits a girder, hard, and nearly faints from impact. The construction workers come over, and try to break this up. "Look guys, we have work to do says one. Octavious turns and punches him. Two others run over, but get hit with the scepter.

"Freeze!" says the police officer. "Drop your weapon. Octavious puts his hands up, but throws the scepter forward, and into the officer’s chest. Connor, dazed, but still alive gets back up. He spots a sledge hammer, and picks it up. Meanwhile Octavious has reclaimed his scepter.

Connor lunges at him to nail him, but Octavious senses the movement and turns around. He points the scepter at Connor, who halts his charge. It again begins to glow, and Connor realizes he is defenseless.

Scene 17:

Connor charges forward hoping to make it before the blast, or with stand it long enough to take his foe down. But no fire comes, and he is now the threat. He swings the sledge hammer, and Octavious blocks. Sparks fly as the weapons collide, and Octavious stumbles back. The two warrior continue their dual, and finally the hammer breaks the scepter in half, and slams into Octavious’ chest.

He falls, and Connor stops. "Give me the scepter!" ‘No, it is mine." "It’s used up all it’s power, and so have you, you are defeated." He swings the scepter at Connor’s side, who turns and slams the sledge hammer into his arm. Dr. Octavious drops the scepter in pain.

Connor turns his attention to the pieces of the scepter. He slams his hammer at it, it has little effect, but he is persistent till it breaks. When all is broken, accept the top piece which appears unbreakable, Octavious reverts to his true human form. The construction workers, and some people who have gathered cheer Connor’s victory.

Out of breath, he manages a smile, and picks up the pieces. All the small broken bits he throws into some wet cement, but he takes the unscathed top piece with him. Connor walks away, and we see the police take Dr. Octavious away.

Scene 18:

It is night and Connor walks onto a different construction site. He breaks open some cement. He digs till he is a good distance under ground, and places the last piece of the scepter inside. He fills the space with cement, and cleans up the broken cement.

After he walks away, the camera zooms into the spot he just filled. And a pair of shoes walks onto screen.

We see Connor walking down the street, and he notices the streets have returned to normal.
