Episode 9, The End Is Nigh
Written by Greg D’Angelo
Scene 1:
We see a giant demon on a throne. A faint sound is heard, and it gets louder. It is banging in the distance. The demon’s face turns into shock, as a wall is broken, and legions of other demons pour in. They are smaller, but are powerful enough to subdue it. They pin it down, and one points a (lightning shaped) sword at it. "You’re time is up!" it says sinisterly"
Scene 2:
Angel & Connor step through the portal, and appear in a strange demon world. The world is barren. It appears to be solely made up of colorless stone, that seems to go on forever. "We are so lost," says Angel.
*Opening Credits*
Scene 3:
Angel & Connor are walking through this strange world trying to find their way. "You don’t have a clue where we’re going, do you?" "Not in the least." "Good plan dad, let’s go to a demon dimension, and wander around. Maybe will get lucky and we’ll be captured, and brought right to the senior partners . . . in chains." "You know, we both knew this wasn’t going to be easy Connor. You just have to be a bit more patient."
"Why don’t we just go ask someone," says Connor. "Like them," he adds, and points to some people walking about a hundred feet away. "Cause we can’t trust anyone. They all probably are working for, or are afraid of the senior partners. And by the way, those people over there . . . . are vampires." "You can sense that?" Angel nods. "All the way from here?" Angel nods again. "I don’t think we’re going to find any other humans here." "You mean any humans other then me!" Connor adds, part judgemental, but part jokingly. Angel takes it as a joke, wanting to break the tension, and laughs. The two then move on.
Scene 4:
Angel & Connor come to a temple of some sorts. They explore the place, and all around are statues of wolves, rams & harts. "This must be this place," says Angel. "They’re animals? And they’re worshiped here?" "I thinked they’re worshiped on many dimensions, but they’re not animals. They’re just associate with animals, as no one probably knows what they look like." "That makes sense," says Connor. "People have been worshiping animals as gods since the time of cave men."
"What do you know?" says a mean, strong, and evil sounding voice. They turn around to see a group of 8 true vampires (green & horned like Angel in Pylia). "What the hell are they?" asks Connor. "They’re vampires." "I thought vampires looked like you?" "Can I explain this after the big fight we’re about to have?" "You made a mistake coming here." says the same vampire as before, who appears to be the leader. "They knew you would come," he adds pointing to a statue of the wolf, ram, and hart.
"And let me guess, you were sent to kill us?" says Angel The vampire nods, and then they all attack. Angel punches one, and a stake pops out from under his arm, and it is dusted. Connor swings the sword, and cuts one’s head off. However, 6 are left, and they are both grabbed by 2. Some of them grab Angel’s arms, and rip off his wrist devices. Two others begin to pummel Connor, but he picks up his feet, and kicks them both in the face.
Angel struggles, and escapes his captures. "Over here," he says to Connor, and they move into a corner, where less can come at them. Connor pushes over a stature, and it falls on one. The two go into a furry, and start to kill the vampires.
First Connor grabs one and cuts his head off with his knife, while Angel holds the others off. When Connor is done with oine, he grabs another and kills it. Soon there is none left, except the one pinned under the statue. Angel grabs the sword, and beheads it.
Some kind of energy blast hits Angel, and blows his sword away. There is laughter from multiple voices. They both turn, but no one is there. "Welcome Angel," says a female voice. "It is good that we can finally meet," says a man. "The senior partners," says Angel.
Scene 5:
Three humanoid creatures appear before Angel & Connor. They all have bodies shaped like people, but their heads are animal like. One has the head of a wolf, another a ram, and the last is a hart (male deer). The wolf appears to befemale as it has flowing gold hair, and a larger bossom then the others.
"You have come," says the ram. "But only to meet your doom!" continues the hart. "Pity," adds the wolf. "We could have been good friends." Angel steps forward and raises the sword he holds. "Can we just be done with this!" "You seek death?" asks the wolf. "We seek freedom!" states Connor. "Very well," says the hart. "We shall free you from life," says the ram finishing the sentence.
The senior partners charge the heroes. The wolf tries to rip them with her claws, the ram tries to smash them with it’s mighty horns, and the hart tries to cut them with it’s long & sharp horns. However, the 2 manage quite a nimble defense against the demons.
Angel punches the ram, but it seems to have no effect. The wolf grabs into his chest, and the ram lays a massive head butt, which sends Angel flying across the room, nearly swooning.
Connor is struggling to not have his innards gouged by the hart’s horns. He grabs onto them and tries to control it, but it winds up being a mistake. It bashes him into a wall, once - twice - thrice, and and then flings him across the room to land near his father.
Angel sees his son bleeding from the arm & jaw. "We are way out of our league. I’m sorry I took you here." Connor opens his mouth but no words come out. The senior partners stalk over, each bearing a wicked grin.
Scene 6:
Out of no where a wall explodes, and Illyria stands there. The senior partners look shocked. "Surely you haven’t forgotten me?" "Illyria?" asks the wolf. "What a nice suprise," says the ram. "Especially in that nice new body," adds the hart. "Yes, this mortal body that you arranged for me. Do you really think that it will save you?" "What can you hope to do against all of us?" asks the wolf "We are the wolf - the ram - and the hart," states the ram. "We are eternal . . . and you no longer have the ability to alter time," ends the hart.
"What you are is annoying, and I have not forgotten that it was you who were responsible for my murder!" The senior partners do not say more, just continue to smile wickedly. Illyria reaches into a pouch on her belt, and pulls out the scepter head (from "Wings Of Evil"). "Remember this," she asks. "It was the scepter of Merkel, a mere human wizard, but never the less - a pretty good one. This will allow me to open a portal to the dimension, which stores my power. Ironic, since Merkel got his powers from you."
The senior partners charge Illyria, but it is to late. A portal opens in front of her, and her powers flow back into her. The ground shakes, and the sky begins to spu fire & lightning. The building which they are in starts to collapse. Illyira begins to transform, she is no longer a humanoid but a huge & powerful demon (FYI: the one we saw in the opening scene). Angel grabs Connor, "let’s go!" The 2 run out, and the building collapses on the 4 power demons inside. Illyria pushes the building off of her, and has not even a scratch on her. She turns her head, and looks at the heroes. "Angel," she says with a wicked smile.
Scene 7:
Angel turns to see Illyria in her new (or old) form, and knows not what to do. Illyria lunges in her gigantic form over to Angel & Connor. "It is good to see you, and your son. I will help you kill the wolf, the ram, and the hart!" "You mean that didn’t kill them?" Connor asks pointing to the ruined temple. Illyria shakes her head, we demons can only be killed by our hearts getting utterly destroyed.
The ground continues to shake, and the ruins of the temple go flying about. Some pieces hit Illyria, but do not phase her in the least. Angel and Connor, however, must dodge a few pieces. The senior partners rise up, ready for another round with their foes. However this time, it is 3 facing off against 3. (Dramatic music enters.)
Connor charges the wolf (his nearest foe), and Angel goes for the hart, both of which gladly accept the challenge. However, when Ilyria walks over to the ram, it is not so quick to get into a fight. The former monarch of the demon age stalks near it, and it continous to back away.
Angel & Connor are fighting their opponents. The wolf & the hart try to punch & cut them. They manage to block the punches, but take a few cuts on their arms. Though they are fairing better then before, they still cannot get an advantage. Angel moves closer to Connor, partially thinking that fighting side by side they will do better, and partially think that if they have to die, its best to do it together.
Out of no where the wolf and the hart jump into the air, and swich places. The hart lands before Connor, and the wolf before Angel. They are both a bit confused, but go back in for an attack. The hart lowers his head, and lunges at Connor. He moves out of the way, but the hart expected it, and turns to grab him with his hands. He throws Connor far away, into what looks a bit like a tree, but act like a venus fly trap. Angel see what is happening, and goes to help him. However, the wolf tackles him. "Not so fast, let your son hug a tree!"
Illyria is still stalking her victim. She occasionally charges, but it is no help. "Not so fast anymore, old lady. The ram, charges back, hitting Illyria with his horns, but it gives out little damage.
Angel knocks the wolf off of him. The hart then walks over, and grabs Angel by the throat. "Go help Mr. Suvarta . . . I’ll deal with the vampire!" The wolf rises, and nods. The hart pushes Angel far out in front on him, and then lowers his horns in front of Angel’s chest. He is about to plunge them into Angel’s chest, and one is in position to pierce his heart.
Scene 8:
The horns come in near to Angel’s chest, however, he grabs on and stops the attack. Connor, meanwhile, is stuck fighting his way out of a man eating tree. He takes out his knife, and cuts his way out.
Illyira is trying to attack the ram, but it is wisely leading her away from the battle. the wolf comes up behind Illyria, but she senses it. She turns around, and smacks it, sending it back - hard. The ram again head butts Illyria, but with better effect this time. She falls, and the 2 demons attack her together. "You’re not so tough," says the wolf. "When you’re off your feet!" adds the ram.
Angel is holding back the attack, but is slowly tiring. Connor comes from behind and tries to stab the hart. The blade has no effect, but it does distract the hart for a moment. It lays a backhand to Connor’s face, and Angel doesn’t miss the opportunity. He puts both hands on the horn near his heart, and breaks it off. The hart, drops him, and screams in pain.
"Nice," says Connor. "Together now," replies Angel. Connor nods, and they both attack the wounded senior partner. Angel, still holding the horn, uses it as a weapon. While Connor still has his knife.
Ilyria is fending off the 2 other senior partners, but can only hold them back. She appears tired, and somewhat frustrated.
Angel slashes with the broken horn, and notices the hart avoids it. He continues to use it, and Connor sees what Angel is doing. He slashes at it’s face with his knife, but again has no effect. Angel tries to stab it, but it grabs his arm. Connor grabs the hart, and slams it into a big rock nearby. Angel doesn’t miss the chance and stabs it.
"You still cannot . . . stop me!" The hart takes a deep breath, and pushes both Angel & Connor away. It laughs wickedly. Connor kicks it, but it blocks, and slams him against the rock and then the ground. Angel then tackles it, and punches at the wound. It counters, and pins Angel down, but the vampire seems not to care. Angel continues to attack the wound, trying to open it more, till he cuts it apart. Connor is back up. "Help Illyria!" commands Angel, and with a tone that tells Connor not to even consider disobeying.
Connor runs off, and Angel retakes the advantage, pinning the senior partner down. He punches his hand into the wounded gut of the hart, pushing his hand all the way in. It’s face reke’s of pain, and it pushes Angel so hard, he flies into the air. Angel comes down, and both get up. Angel holds his hands together. "Give up!" demands Angel. "Foolish vampire!" it says as it charges. Angel turns his back to the hart, and puts his hands to his mouth. He lays a back hand, and the hart goes flying. He turns around, and his mouth is full of blood. "What?" says the hart not understanding. "Your blood is now my blood, something your son, Marcus, told me." Angel - with blinding speed - runs over to the hart, and throws it into a tree. It is impalled, and the tree starts to digest it.
Illyria is facing the 2 remaining senior partners. "Illyria . . ." says the wolf. "We can make you a deal" adds the ram. "You have nothing to offer!" Illyria says, then sends a punch at the ram, but it lowers his head, blocking with his horns. "Yes we do." "We can offer you your life," continues the wolf. "Ironic, you have that huge muscular body of your’s back, but you still are no match for us." says the ram. "Had we known it would so easy to kill you, we’d have done it ourselves," adds the wolf.
Connor kicks the wolf in the back, and grabs her by the hair. Illyria turns to face the ram, and it looks shocked. Illyria charges the ram, and pushes it back. The two struggle for control, and it looks as if they are dancing. The wolf flips Connor to the ground, and throws both her clawed hands towards his face. Connor catches them in time, but barely, so he takes some scratches.
Scene 9:
Angel runs over, and pulls the wolf off of his son. "Stay with Illyria!" Angel says pointing to the ancient demon. "How did you . . .?" Connor begins to asks. "I’m a vampire . . ." Angel begins, but the wolf rises. Angel grabs her & punches her, and she falls. "Somehow vampires can absorb their strength, when we drink their blood." "Wierd," whispers Connor, as he turns to help Ilyria.
Angel draws the hart’s horn as his weapon, as the wolf again risses. "You are remarkable, vampire. Which is off course why we have been so interested in you. However, killing a senior partner is more then we ever imagined." "I plan to kill 3 senior partners," Angel retorts. "More likely you will die trying. Mr. Suvarta will soon eliminate Illyria & your son, and then we shall deal with you." "That’s if you can live that long . . . which you won’t!"
The wolf angrily charges Angel, who takes advantage. He trips her, and tries to stab her with the horn. However it collapses on impact. "You really don’t understand how things work, do you? One senior partners cannot hurt another, not even in death. It’s in our contract." Angel smiles wickedly. "But I can hurt you," he replies as he morphs into true vampire form. Her face turns to shock as this vampire above her lowers it’s head and bites her. She rips at him, but he rips back. Soon, she stops struggling. "It matters not vampire, you will be trapped in this dimension. The powers don’t care about you any more . . . you signed away your destiny." "Actually, I misspelled my name. I’m quite suprised someone who knows so much about laws & contracts would have noticed that." The wolf let’s out a shriek of rage & disappointment, but it is with her last breath.
Illyria has caught up to the last remaining senior partner, and is attempting a brawl with him. Illyria is the stronger, but he puts up a good fight. Connor runs up behind Mr. Suvarta and tries to stab his with his knife. Once more it has no effect, but he continues with a conbination of punches, which still does little damage. the ram is stunned by the hits, and Illyria takes advantage. She locks her arms onto him, and lowers her head, biting off it’s head. She swallows, then comes back for the rest of him.
Angel (now back in human form) joins his team again, and just in time to see what has happened. He walks slowly over to Illyria, being very cautious. "That was uh . . . some nice work." "We rocked," says Connor. "Now I rule!" states Illyria, "there is no one to stand in my way!" Angel & Connor both look shocked. And reach for their weapons. "Of course I mean here, in this demon dimension. Someone has to keep them in line. Earth is for you humans now."
"You really are not evil, are you?" Angel asks Illyria. "Well yes, I am . . . but not really that evil." "So you just helped us, why?" "For revenge of course, and to once again rise to power." "Right," says Angel (not totally believing that she is on a path without redemption). "So, where do we go now," says Connor. "I don’t know, we may not be able to find a way back to Earth."
"Sure you can" says a man’s voice, he sounds somewhat sophisticated. They all turn to see a middle aged man dressed in a fine suit. "Congratulations Angel, you have just fulfilled your destiny. Unfortunately, you’ve pissed off alot of people."
