BAD BOYS (1995)
Rating: ***
"Supercharged, ultra-violent, and undeniably hilarious. One great action shoot-'em-up."

BAD BOYS II (2003)
Rating: **1/2
"Shamelessly vapid, pointless, big, loud, foul, violent, dumb, and illogical...but sort of fun, too. The blazing chemistry between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence is the real draw here, and if you can stand two-and-a-half hours of sheer average blockbuster explosions, I recommend this to you."

BAD COMPANY (2002)
Rating: ***
"Amazingly, Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock were meant to work together."

BANDITS (2001)
Rating: ***
"A delightfully delicious crime caper comedy. Awesome alliteration, ah?"

BANGER SISTERS, THE (2002)
Rating: **1/2
"A disappointing comedy about hippies that have retired from hippiedom."

BARBERSHOP (2002)
Rating: **1/2
"A haircut you won't be asking the barber your money back for."

BAT PEOPLE (1974)
Rating: *
"The depressing hobo brought some comic relief."

BATMAN (1966)
Rating: **
"Batman as a hippie sitcom? Wow! That's cool! Notice the sarcasm in my voice?!"

BATMAN (1989)
Rating: **1/2
"Holy big budget, Batman!"

BATMAN & ROBIN (1997)
Rating: **
"I think it's fair to say that the Batman franchise was ruined once Robin shouted 'Cowabunga!'"

BATMAN FOREVER (1995)
Rating: **1/2
"This has been a Jim Carrey production."

BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM (1993)
Rating: ***1/2
"Better than any of the live-action Batman films."

BATMAN RETURNS (1992)
Rating: ***1/2
"Tim Burton returns, Michael Keaton returns, and Danny Elfman returns. Luckily, plot contrivancies do not."

BATMAN: SUBZERO (1998)
Rating: ***
"You know what? Mr. Freeze rules."

BATMAN/SUPERMAN MOVIE, THE (1998)
Rating: ***
"Great animation and a deep story for a so-called kids' movie."

BATS (1999)
Rating: *
"I'm pretty sure that an eight year-old with a plastic, remote-controlled bat, a Camcorder, and no knowledge of film could do better than this."

*BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED (1987)
Rating: ***
"A flat-out charming family movie."

BEAUTIFUL MIND, A (2001)
Rating: ****
"A Beautiful Mind is a beautiful film."

BEAST, THE (1996)
Rating: **1/2
"I saw the condensed version of this mini-series, so I can't comment on the full-length version, but what I saw here was very interesting...yet it fell through due to repitition."

BEDAZZLED (2000)
Rating: **
"It's quite funny during the beginning, but when it begins to sink into repitition, it just becomes embarrassing."

BEETLEJUICE (1988)
Rating: ****
"A twisted, hilarious journey into the funky, psychadelic comedic vision of director Tim Burton."

BEING JOHN MALKOVICH (1999)
Rating: ***1/2
"Charlie Kaufman's brilliant screenplay and Spike Jonze's mesmerizing direction meld together to create a fantastic film in which multiple viewings are required. The story is amazing and seamlessly entertaining, plus John Cusack and Cameron Diaz give remarkable performances. An incredible thought-provoking journey."

BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES (1970)
Rating: *1/2
"You know, this might have been decent had it not been for the cave-dwelling, mutated religious fanatics who worship an atomic bomb. By the way, your eyes are fine."

BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, THE (1993)
Rating: ***
"You don't need to bring your brain, just your funny bone."

BICENTENNIAL MAN (1999)
Rating: ***
"A robot's ambitious quest makes for a wondrous movie."

BIG (1988)
Rating: ****
"A big hit!"

BIG DADDY (1999)
Rating: *1/2
"This is proof that Saturday Night Live cast members should never be set free from the show."

BIG FISH (2003)
Rating: **1/2
"Though Tim Burton's direction is splendid, and the fantasy scenes starring Ewan McGregor as a younger Albert Finney (who plays the father here) are very entertaining, the other scenes are achingly dull, and the film suffers from a serious moral issue. Finney, instead of coming off as a gentle storyteller, seems more like a compulsive liar, which hurts the movie very badly. See it for the scene stealers McGregor and Steve Buscemi, because otherwise, Big Fish drowns in its own pond."

BIG TROUBLE (2002)
Rating: *
"Big trouble, indeed."

BILLY ELLIOT (2000)
Rating: **
"An annoying British drama that's extremely disappointing."

BILLY MADISON (1995)
Rating: *1/2
"This totally dumb Adam Sandler farce has a terrible first act, and doesn't get much better afterwards. However, it does manage to have a few genuine laughs, and I was chuckling in spite of myself throughout most of it. The best part of the film is the short role played by Steve Buscemi, who has been in a number of bad movies, but whom I don't think will ever actually turn in a bad performance."

BIRDS, THE (1963)
Rating: **
"Too violent to be scary, it seems as if Hithcock only went for a shock value for this one. That said, a classic this isn't."

BLACK HAWK DOWN (2001)
Rating: **1/2
"A critically-acclaimed movie that deserved hardly any of that acclaim? How shocking."

BLACK KNIGHT (2001)
Rating: **1/2
"It's better than most of your standard comedy fare nowadays, but its one-note, fish-out-of-water theme really begins to show near the third act."

BLADE (1998)
Rating: ***
"A blood-splashing vampire romp that redeems most flaws with a superb climax."

BLADE II (2002)
Rating: ***
"Blade is back with better writing and some of the most intense action scenes in recent memory."

BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, THE (1999)

Rating: ***
"It's more than just pretty scenery."

BLUE STREAK (1999)
Rating: **1/2
"Martin Lawrence's same routines aren't that hilarious now."

BOYZ N THE HOOD (1991)
Rating: ****
"The African-American Godfather: A film about gangs, a film about family."

BRADY BUNCH MOVIE, THE (1995)

BRAVEHEART (1995)
Rating: ***
"Some truly awe-inspiring battle scenes."

BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY (2001)
Rating: ***1/2
