These are the movies beginning with the letter "C".

CABLE GUY, THE (1996)
Rating: ***
"Underrated comedic genius."

CADDYSHACK (1980)
Rating: **
"Eighteen holes of dread."

CAN'T HARDLY WAIT (1998)
Rating: **1/2
"The subplot with Seth Green's character is what really makes this flick interesting."

CAPE FEAR (1991)
Rating: ***
"Robert DeNiro makes for one terrifying villain."

CARNOSAUR (1993)
Rating: **
"This movie sucks, but at least it's a little inventive."

CARRIE (1976)
Rating: **
"You know, that classic revenge scene is way too violent to be frightening."

CARRIE (2002)
Rating: ***
"Finally. Carrie done right. Very, very frightening."

CASABLANCA (1942)
Rating: ****
"The definitive World War II romance, Michael Curtiz' masterpiece is a shining example of filmmaking history and great entertainment. Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman have real chemistry as they discuss their lives in an atmospheric, sweaty bar filled with interesting characters. Despite all this, Peter Lorre almost steals the show in his nervous, all-too-small role. A true classic."

CASPER (1995)
Rating: ***
"Witty and touching, it's a scarily good family film."

CASPER: A SPIRITED BEGINNING (1997)
Rating: **
"With a smaller budget also comes a worse movie."

CASPER MEETS WENDY (1998)
Rating: **1/2
"Better than the second, it's silly fun."

CAST AWAY (2000)
Rating: ***1/2
"Tom Hanks is one marvelous actor! Cast Away only cheats you near the end."

CAT BALLOU (1965)
Rating: ***
"A classic and hilarious western comedy!"

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (2002)
Rating: ****
"Spielberg should really do more comedies."

CATS & DOGS (2001)
Rating: **1/2
"Ninja cats are just funny."

CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS, A (1965)
Rating: ****
"Everyone has their favorite Christmas TV cartoons, and this is mine."

CHARLIE'S ANGELS (2000)
Rating: *
"I think Satan made these angels."

CHARLOTTE'S WEB (1973)
Rating: **
"This muddled adaptation of E.B. White's charming children's book has the novel's sweet simplicities, but screenwriter Earl Hamner Jr. ruins the film by drowning the whole affair in a sea of overly sugary sweetness. A sticky, messy, and, most unfortunately, unentertaining web of annoyance."

CHEATS (2002)
Rating: ***
"A standard-sounding high school comedy gets a surprising dose of adrenaline from its entertaining characters, good acting, brilliant direction, and its witty (and, most importantly, intelligent) screenplay. An extremely fun tale in what might've been just another stale 'Let's cheat!' Generation X flick. Look out for Mary Tyler Moore and Griffin Dunne in minor, yet effective, roles."

CHERRY FALLS (2000)
Rating: ***
"A very interesting and entertaining slasher flick with some originality."

CHICAGO (2002)
Rating: ****
"An amazing hallucinatory musical."

CHICKEN RUN (2000)
Rating: ***1/2
"Hilarious and delightful, just like Wallace and Gromit!"

CHIPMUNK ADVENTURE, THE (1987)
Rating: **1/2
"A little too chipmunky."

CHRISTMAS STORY, A (1983)
Rating: **1/2
"Though it is set in my home state of Ohio, I found this annoying little film's greatest problem to be its obnoxious, unsympathetic child characters. Luckily, there are some warm and fuzzy moments with the finely-portrayed adults, or else A Christmas Story would be one to get a lump of coal in its stocking."

CHRISTMAS VACATION (1989)
Rating: **1/2
"A little too wacky and disjointed, but it still works for me."

CITIZEN KANE (1941)
Rating: ****
"A true American masterpiece: Wit, drama, and charm all rolled into one."

CITY OF ANGELS (1998)
Rating: ***
"Beautiful in its spirituality and message."

CIVIL ACTION, A (1998)
Rating: ***
"At times, the characters in this movie seem a little too one-sided for no good reason, but this powerful true story ends with affirmative action. Plus, John Travolta rules."

CLASH OF THE TITANS (1981)
Rating: *1/2
"I could've lived with the somewhat decent Ray Harryhausen effects in this tale of Greek mythology, because some of the imagery is still good, but it's the horrid writing and mediocre acting that prevent this clash between heroes to become anything more than laughably bad. I guess that Dionysus wasn't here for this one, and that Ares certainly wasn't present for the filming of the battle scenes."

CLERKS. (1994)
Rating: ***
"Very bizarre, and with a sick, often twisted, sense of humor. Works for me."

CLIENT, THE (1994)
Rating: ***
"Another enjoyable John Grisham adaptation, this thriller, though it has some language and violence, would make fine viewing for the entire family. Susan Sarandon adds spunk to the role of a lawyer protecting her client, 11 year-old Brad Renfro, from the Mafia. The script is not too corny, and the thrills are enough to keep one on their seat's edge; the result is a very entertaining flick that, while nothing groundbreaking, is quite memorable."

CLOCKSTOPPERS (2002)
Rating: **1/2
"Am I the only one that liked and was intrigued by this movie?"

CLUE (1985)
Rating: ***
"Some movies are so stupid, you've just gotta love 'em."

COLD MOUNTAIN (2003)
Rating: **1/2
"Much of Cold Mountain's frequent romantic interludes are overblown and nonsensical, but its soap opera-esque theatrics can be amusing at times, though the Civil War battle sequences leave much to be desired. Nicole Kidman does a fair job, as does Jude Law, but Renee Zellweger is quite the star here, stealing away every scene that she's in. Cold Mountain is sort of like the modern-day equivalent of Gone with the Wind, only more entertaining, yet of a lesser quality."

COMIC BOOK VILLAINS (2002)
Rating: **1/2
"A weird, yet oddly entertaining, black comedy for comic book aficionados."

COMING TO AMERICA (1988)
Rating: ***1/2
"Solid Eddie Murphy gold."

CON AIR (1997)
Rating: ***1/2
"Con Air is a big-bang, in-your-face, relentless action thriller that'll blow you away."

CONRACK (1974)
Rating: ***1/2
"A thoroughly entertaining little tale with fine performances."

CORRINA, CORRINA (1994)
Rating: ***1/2
"An altogether magnificent comedy/drama that might have the best ending scene in any of the movies that I've ever seen."

CROCODILE DUNDEE IN LOS ANGELES (2001)
Rating: **1/2
"Quite funny, but also quite cheesy."

CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON (2000)
Rating: ***
"Some truly amazing fight scenes, but the half-hour of mushy romance seems unneccessarily long."

CURSE OF THE JADE SCORPION, THE (2001)
Rating: ***1/2
"Simply hilarious!"
