These are the movies that begin with the letter "G".

GALAXY GUEST (1999)
Rating: ***
"Very original and very funny, especially Tim Allen."

GET CARTER (2000)
Rating: *1/2
"Awful cinematography, bad acting, and very boring."

GHIDRA, THE THREE-HEADED MONSTER (1965)
Rating: **1/2
"Weird, man. But the rubber monsters are cool."

GHOST (1990)
Rating: ***
"A touching supernatural drama, with fine performances. After seeing this, I'll always think of it when I hear Unchained Melody."

GHOST SHIP (2002)
Rating: **
"Stale performances and tired scares result in a boring MTV music video."

GHOST WORLD (2001)
Rating: *1/2
"The dude with the nunchaku was cool. And...that was it."

GHOSTBUSTERS (1984)
Rating: ****
"One of my all-time favorite films. Comedic perfection."

GHOSTBUSTERS II (1989)
Rating: ***1/2
"This is one trippy movie. Dancing toasters?"

GIN GAME, THE (2003)
Rating: ***
"A very well-acted, yet slightly inconclusive, dramedy."

GIRL, INTERRUPTED (1999)
Rating: ***
"Angelina Jolie gives quite the suprising performance here."

GODFATHER, THE (1972)
Rating: ****
"A true Italian-American classic."

GODFATHER, THE: PART II (1974)
Rating: ****
"The finest sequel and one of the best pictures ever made. Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, and the rest are all fantastic."

GODZILLA (1998)
Rating: ***
"What was so wrong with this? It's better than any of the old ones that I've seen!"

GODZILLA 1985 (1985)
Rating: ***
"Deserves credit for having some amazing dubbing. Not to mention the coolness factor."

GODZILLA VS. MEGALON (1976)
Rating: *
"So very disappointing."

GOLDRUSH: A REAL LIFE ALASKAN ADVENTURE (1998)
Rating: ***
"Family entertainment that'll please everyone."

GONE WITH THE WIND (1939)
Rating: **1/2
"Hailed as one of the greatest films of all time by many a movie buff, I cannot find Gone with the Wind to be much more than an overblown soap opera. It's like watching an episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, only one that's much too long. Hattie McDaniel gives the only great performance in the movie, though Clark Gable was good, and Vivien Leigh was almost bearable. The golden age equivalent of Titanic: Beautifully displayed, yet upon further inspection, quite shallow indeed."

GOOD BURGER (1997)
Rating: ***
"Good Burger has an innocent charm to it that makes everything in it worthwhile."

GOOD GIRL, THE (2002)
Rating: ***
"This is sad, bleak, and depressing, but awkwardly fascinating nonetheless. It's sort of like a downhome American Beauty. Plus, Jennifer Aniston gives a surprisingly great performance."

GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM (1987)
Rating: ***
"Having a Vietnamese friend, I'm glad to say that this film's Vietnamese characters are every bit as fleshed-out as the Americans. Plus, Robin Williams is hilarious, and even though the movie can be a bit short on character at times, he more than makes up for it. A good morning indeed."

GREASE (1978)
Rating: ***
"Boogie woogie 'til you can't boogie no more."

GREAT MUPPET CAPER, THE (1981)
Rating: ***1/2
"By far, this is the best Muppets movie."

GREEN MILE, THE (1999)
Rating: ***1/2
"Quite possibly the best Stephen King adaptation to ever grace the screen."

GREMLINS (1984)
Rating: ****
"It's so shocking that a movie can be both cute and unabashedly vicious at the same time."

GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH (1990)
Rating: ****
"Even better than the first! In fact, it manages to parody the first!"

GROUNDHOG DAY (1993)
Rating: ***
"Wow. Wouldn't it be so weird to kill yourself, like, ten times, and wake up in the morning?"

GUARDING TESS (1994)
Rating: ***1/2
"Unbelievably cute and involving. Plus, it takes place in Ohio! Nicolas Cage, Sally Field, and my home state...how can you go wrong?"

GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER (1967)
Rating: ***
"Though the issue of interracial marriage is outdated today, this well-scripted drama still manages to involve and engage the viewer in a terrific tale that proves just how useless racism is. Spencer Tracy is marvelous, and really manages to steal the show, though Sidney Poitier is also excellent. Groundbreaking for its time, and entertaining for today."

GUYS AND DOLLS (1955)
Rating: **1/2
"Strange and corny."
