This is the only* book about Johnny Depp written in Japanese. But those who don't understand Japanese can enjoy it too, because it has a lot of photos from his movies and from other situations in his life - 53 pages in color and 15 pages in b & w.
On the other hand, this is an introductory book by several Japanese writers, therefore you may not be satisfied with all of the articles. The biography is very short and the critical study on Johnny's acting and the interview is not excellent.
However, there are two articles I recommend. One is an article titled
"Scent of Rock'n'Roll" which is focused on the music in the movies
Johnny performed and on his musical works. I believe there are few such
essays available especially in Japanese. The other article is a
thorough filmography from "A Nightmare on Elm Street" to "The Brave,"
which includes not only the short film "Dummies" but also films Johnny
refused or that were cancelled, such as "Robin Hood" and "Divine
Rapture." Each title is accompanied with a comment, cast and staff list
and a summary of the movie. The only regrettable thing is that it
doesn't refer to any of the films Johnny shot himself.
If you are a Japanese fan of Johnny Depp, you should read this book.
And if you are learning Japanese, I believe reading this book will be
very good practice for you.
* "Johnny Depp: A Modern Rebel" and "Johnny Depp: An Illustrated Story" were translated into Japanese, however, I'm not sure if these books are available at this time.
