"If I'm with friends, I want to talk about sports or games or a new CD that's coming out. When we talk about me, it's about me as a person, not an actor..."
What can you say about this lovable guy with amazing blue eyes who has such a great outlook on life, love and his career. He just wants to have fun and enjoy life like any other young adult. Some may ask how can that be possible when you basically grew up in front of the world. But for Elijah Wood it comes that easy! Elijah is a normal everyday guy who has been blessed with a great personality that shines on screen and is equipped with a special talent when it comes to acting. Born January 28, 1981 in Ceder Rapids Iowa, at age 7 his mom pointed him in the direction of modeling. That led to his new found success in his hometown popping up in local magazines and TV commercials. But it didn't stop there, his mom decided to move a young Elijah along with his brother and sister to Los Angeles. It was that move that Elijah got his very first job at 8 years old working besides Paula Abdul in her video "Forever your Girl".
A little after that Elijah started to get much bigger roles working with the biggest names in Hollywood. He landed his next role working besides Mel Gibson in "Forever Young", then he worked with a fellow child actor Macaulay Culkin in "The Good Son" and from there he worked with Paul Hogan in "Flipper" along side of a very cute dolpin. The list continues into a host of good movies that he worked in, including his biggest role to date playing the Ring cursed hobbit in all 3 Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Like any other person on this planet who has a love for music, the same can be said for Elijah. He has a love for music that tops everyone in this world! Elijah has a massive collection of 600 or more CDs of various artist and still growing. One of this top favorite artist is Radiohead, but he is a hardcore Smashing Pumpkins fan. (I love Radiohead too!!!) He also loves The Beta Band, Nine Inch Nails and Cake just to name a few. Right now his new obsession is Queens of the Stone Age. (I'm into them 2, it's the best album!, no lie.) Elijah is pretty much into anything that he enjoys listening to. (We share the same great taste in music and CDs! ROCK ON ELIJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! )
For those who didn't know, Elijah loves to double as a DJ too. While filming on the set of Try Seventeen he played DJ for co-star Mandy Moore. "We both really like the Strokes and Bjork, but he also turned me on to so much music I don't think I would've listened to on my own," says Mandy. --> He claims he owns between 1,200 and 1,500 CDs. "I know it's insane,' says Elijah. "I can't possibly listen to all of them." Well. the first step is admitting you have a problem, right? (quotes from YM 2003)
Elijah doesn't have a problem telling you that he is a geek. While in West Hollywood he visits his favorite record store called "Amoeba Music". Elijah happily asked clerks about obscure B-sides from weird or obscure bands. "I'm totally a geek," he says later with a light laugh over burgers and espressos. "I play computer games, collect action figures..." etc ---quote from Gear magazine, Dec. 2002Since Elijah has wrapped up his work as Frodo in Tolkien trilogy "Lord Of The Rings","The Two Towers - 2002" and "The Return of the King - 2003" he has been keeping busy by DJing at clubs and working on new movies that since been released as well as new movies he has coming out later this year.(See Filmography) He also has been traveling here and there with his with his new family he bonded with on the set during his time in New Zealand. But his busy schedule doesn't keep him from thinking about school and his bright future. One day he plans to attend Columbia University to major in English. He also has the desire to be a photographer or work in music/film entertainment.
