Godzilla is the "HellChild" of Mother Earth, doomed to walk the planet for all eternity as a reminder and punishment of mankind's destructive nature. It is assumed that this version of Godzilla is actually Godzilla Jr., who absorbed the radiation fallout from its "parent" when Godzilla went into a Meltdown (see Godzilla vs. Destroyah). Godzilla is neither a hero or villain, but a monstrosity of both that seems intent only on defending its turf from any invading monsters.
