| Having caused a great stir in 1974 with Dark Star, his science fiction parody, which he followed up in 1976 with the clacustrohobic terror thriller Assault on precinct 13, John Carpenter's next film was aimed at high sakes.Halloween was the name of the film made in 1978 on the shoe-string budget of just 300,000 dollars.In it an unbalanced Michael Myers, the "black man"- an enonymous murder machine without intelligence or conscience- is let loose on a small town in Illinois.When just six years old, he murdered his seventeen year old sister after witnessing her at her love games with her boyfriend, and- having escaped from a lunatic asylum- he has returned 15 years later to his home town on Halloween to kill again, but who? | Annie Brackett, the sheriff daughter and Lynda the sex mad chick with a word for everything.As the day goes on Laurie thinks her head is playing tricks on her when she see's a man with a white mask on appearing every where.Her friends, Annie and Lynda, are busy thinking about the fun of Halloween night yet to come.That night, Laurie and Annie are babysitting across the street from each other. Laurie has to keep an eye on Tommy Doyle, while across the street Annie watches Lindsey Wallace.Little do they know that the man in the white mask is Michael Myers and has come to kill.Micheal first murders Annie by slashing her throut, then followed by Lynda and her boyfriend Bob.Their only hope is Dr. Loomis, Michael's childhood psychiatrist who has followed Michael's trail back to Haddonfield. Loomis enlists the help of town sheriff.By now Michael is after Laurie after she discovers the three bodies in the wallace house.After a number of times of Laurie trying to kill Michael she is sertain that she has now killed him after stabbing him with his own knife in a cuboard, But Michael comes back for one more scare and goes straight for Laurie.Dr. Loomis apears and shoots Michael 6-times.By Now Michael has fallen of the Doyle house balcony and seems to be dead.The Nightmare is over, or is......? |
