"...it’s hard to think of yourself as damaged when you’re seventeen years old. But I was. I am. we all are, I guess..."

DATE OF BIRTH: August 1, 1980.

BACKGROUND: Born on Staten Island, New York, Tom went to local public schools for elementary and intermediate education, then went To Stuyvesant High School on Manhattan for High School. He moved on to St. John’s University to study for an bachelor’s degree in accounting. He comes from a large family, and besides acting, enjoys writing, football, and music.

ACTING EXPERIENCE: Tom has previously been seen as Juror #8 in “Twelve Angry Men”, Burger in “Hair”, Billy Crocker in “Anything Goes”, Picasso in “Picasso at the Lapin Agile”, and Roma in “Glengarry Glen Ross.” He has also written and directed himself in numerous sketch comedy/improv shows.

ACTING INFLUENCES: Jack Lemmon, Steve Buscemi, James Stewart, and Marlon Brando are all early influences on Tom. Since he has taken up acting as a serious pursuit, he has grown to admire the talents of Jeff Bridges, Jack Nicholson, Katherine Hepburn, Kevin Kline, and Brad Pitt.

ON ACTING: Foremost, the words. They are there for a reason, and that’s almost always where the character is. Try to remember that this a real person and he would do things that a real person would do. Between that thought and the lines said, you can get the idea for a character in your head. Try to make it all mesh. When you have the character, do your best to act like that. Also, don’t forget the medium you’re working in. Drama, comedy, musical, film, stage. They all have different rules. Don’t forget them, and don’t be restricted by them, work with them.

ON BRANDON: He’s a good guy with some serious problems he doesn’t know how to deal with. He’s a good friend, and loyal, almost to a fault. He tries his best to deal with things, but without being able to deal with the past, ‘dealing’ usually means letting things flow over him. The character is a great part, with so many colors, so many aspects of his life to play with.

ON THIS MOVIE: I can’t believe how well-written it is, and how well acted it seems. Everyone is working together to make this a very-complex, moving film on how friendship changes and evolves over time, how growing up doesn’t have to mean growing apart, and how failure in one aspect of your life doesn’t condemn your whole life to failure.

PERSONAL QUOTE: “The Dude abides…. I guess that’s the way the whole durned human comedy keeps perpetuating itself.”
