Located just west of Lake Sherwood at the eastern end of Hidden Valley, is the old Kentucky Park Farm, the brainchild of F. W. Matthiessen. The ranch is now the Ventura Farms, owned by David H. Murdock, who raises thoroughbred horses.
At one time there was a horse race track on the property, but it has been removed. The stable and paddock remain. All of these portions of the ranch appear in the two films listed below.
DIRECTIONS: From Los Angeles, take the Hollywood (101) Freeway north. Exit at Westlake Blvd. and turn left (south). Turn right (west) on Potrero Road. Turn left on Lake Sherwood Road. Continue past Lake Sherwood. Kentucky Park Farm (Ventura Farm) is the first ranch on the right when you enter Hidden Valley.
