DIRECTIONS: From Los Angeles, take Interstate 5 north to the Antelope Valley Freeway (14) north. At Highway 395, take it north. About an hour's drive past Red Rock Canyon, you will reach Lone Pine. At the only traffic light in the city is Whitney Portal Road. A short drive west will take you to the Alabama Hills where the majority of filming took place in the area. To the east of town is the old railroad station (now a private residence) and other sites which will have detailed instructions on their separate web pages when published.
