LYON CANYON/VALENCIA OAKS
In 1880, Sanford Lyon purchased land at the mouth of the first canyon to the north of Towsley Canyon. Over time, the canyon became known as Lyon Canyon. The early history consists mainly of ranching and agricultural uses. During the run of the television series "Dukes of Hazzard", Warner Brothers purchased the property, naming it Valencia Oaks. Warners later sold off the property. The canyon was going to be subdivided, but it still remains open land, but closed to the public by the current owners.
