Photographs and Illustrations |
for NON-FICTION BOOKS
All illustrative material in your non-fiction book needs to be of the highest quality and supplied to us in a specific manner, so please follow these instructions exactly:
1. All images must be scanned at 300 dpi. Lower dpi scans will not be accepted. Higher dpi scans are not needed for the printing process.
2. The file must be in TIFF format with an extension name of ".tif", not ".tiff". Do NOT use the jpeg format!
3. Identify each image file. Number them in the order to be used in the book (i.e. 001, 002, 003, etc.), then place an underline, then enter the chapter number (i.e. 001, 002, etc.).
4. Make up a captions list using the file name created in step 3 followed by the caption. For example: 002_001 This scene of Spencer Tracy and Imogene Coca was taken in Los Angeles in 1908.
5. If your book has more than 10 images for inclusion, burn them onto a cd-r or dvd-r, place it and a printout of the captions in a padded envelope, and mail to us when we request it:
P O Box 2536 Victorville CA 92393-2536 If there are 10 or less images for inclusion, you may e-mail them to us. When the time comes, we will give you the e-mail address to use.
