TWENTY THOUSAND LEAGUES UNDER THE SEAS
During the years 1866-1867 the oceans of the world were plagued by a mysterious monster which could destroy an ordinary ship with a single blow. An expedition was formed for the purpose of capturing this extraordinary creature, and one of its members was the distinguished scientist, Monsieur Pierre Aronnax.
Together with his servant Conseil, and a harpooner named Ned Land, Aronnax found himself thrust into contact with the deep sea apparition. He discovered that it was not an animal at all, but a great submarine, the Nautilus. The ship was guided by the morose and secretive Captain Nemo, who extened every courtesy to his uninvited guests, but would not permit them to leave. In his company, Aronnax, Conseil, and Ned Land traveled over much of the world on one of the strangest voyages ever made.
