NAME: Tsui Hark, Tsui Man Kong 

Tsui Hark is one of the many "New Wave" Hong Kong directors from the 80's.  He has produced and directed many films that have shaped and changed the Hong Kong film industry.  He has tried numerous times to bring special effects into Hong Kong movies, having enlisted Hollywood special effects companies to work on the effects for "Zu:Warriors from the Magic Mountain" and Japanese animation companies for "A Chinese Ghost Story: The Tsui Hark Animation."  Many of the scenes from his movies, including "Once Upon A Time In China" and "A Chinese Ghost Story" are now appearing on Xena.  In 1997, he directed his first Hollywood movie with Jean-Claude Van Damme, "Double Team", but it was a critical and box office dud as was his follow up, "Knock Off".  In Hong Kong, many people wish he would return to doing more "period" films, but instead he has focused his energy into a comic book with writer/artist Ma Wing Sing.
