For those who really wanna know about the miserable, insignificant little existence of yours truly, here's a quick rundown on....well, me. Yes, apparently I do have a life outside of watching movies, or atleast I think I do.
Name: Manuel Andres Marrero, but just call me Manny.
Picture: I don't own a digital camera, so therefore I don't have a picture up here yet. Don't worry though, you're not missing anything.
Age: 14(don't make fun of my age!)
Location: Miami, Florida
School and Grade: Coral Gables Senior High, 9th grade.
Date of Birth: April 4th, 1988...notice how that's the same date(except for the year, of course) of Martin Luther King's tragic death. Boy, God must've been laughing his ass off when he created me.
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 127 lbs.
Nationality: I'm American but my background is Cuban and a very small portion is chinese. I don't like labeling myself or other people by nationality though, so I'll just say that I'm a person(or something like it).
Musical Preferences: I have a very diverse taste in music. For types of rock music, I like metal, punk, hardcore, industrial, and alternative. I also enjoy classical music, Hip Hop(NOT rap), and SOME pop(I'm referring to stuff like Moby, Madonna, and Michael Jackson; NOT boy band and britney pop crap). One thing I can't stand(don't worry, I won't crucify you if you like it though) is this techno, lip-synching, flashing-lights crap that seems to be so huge these days. To quote AJ from the site AJ's Little Piece of Misery, "When did everybody stop going for actual talent and songwriting ability as opposed to, 'Look, I can shake my ass!'"
Favorite Bands(in no particular order):Tool, MetallicA, Iron Maiden, Blacksabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Cure, Pink Floyd, Ozzy Osbourne, Opeth, Cradle of Filth, Amorphis, Mercyful Fate, Meshuggah, Poison the Well, Savatage, Black Label Society, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains, Dimmu Borgir, Ministry, Dream Theater, Iced Earth, Anti-Flag, Beatsteaks, Thursday, NoFX, Less than Jake, Incubus, 311, RadioHeaD, Nickelback, KoRn, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Slipknot, MuDvAyNe, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, U2, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Hatebreed, Darwin's Waiting Room, and a bunch of other stuff I can't quite think of right now....
Hobbies: Watching movies(duh), reading, writing, computers, video games, hanging out with friends, going to the mall, comedy, listening to music, watching TV, etc.
Favorite Television Shows: I like to watch sitcoms(go ahead, laugh it off) like "Friends," "Seinfeld," "Frasier," "Everybody Loves Raymond," and "Mad About You." I also like to watch "Friday Night Stand-up" on Comedy Central and "Cowboy Bebop" on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim." Oh yeah, how could I forget about "The Simpsons" and "Mission Hill?"
Some Quotes I Like: "It's funny how some of the biggest, most dramatic changes in our lives happen almost by accident. If we hadn't gone to that particular drugstore to buy toothpaste and tissues on that particular day, we might not have met an old friend whom we hadn't seen in years, who invited us to a party where we met somebody's accountant, who walked us over to this schoolteacher whom we fell in love with and married. Go to a different drugstore and wind up with a completely different life."-Bernard Goldberg.....the guy is a brilliant, former news reporter who wrote a book about media bias called "Bias." It's a really interesting book, and I highly recommend it.
"It is only after we have lost everything, that we are free to do anything."-Brad Pitt in "Fight Club"
"We are not countries. We are not nations. We are not religions. We are not gods. We are not weapons. We are not ammunition. We are not killers. We are people, and we will NOT be tools."-Anti-Flag
"Everybody wants to be so hard, are you real or a second-rate sports-card?"-Slipknot
"Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there."-Incubus
"It was our first time face-to-face. Crossing the line, talking to the other side of death. I'm hearing the words that choke memories into flatlines. I'm calling your name, hoping for something to wash these dreams of you away."-Thursday......they're an awesome emo-core band and I really like this quote a lot. It's from their song, "Cross Out the Eyes" on the "Full Collapse" album, and it's definitely worth checking out.
"Happiness I cannot feel and love to me is so unreal"-Blacksabbath
"Bring me through, and carry my empty shadow inside your warped labyrinth to the well of sin. I swear I will always love you."-Opeth....a beautiful quote from one of the best love songs I've ever heard and from one of the best black metal bands out there. For those curious, the song is called "Nectar" and can be found on their second album, entitled "Morningrise."
A Soundtrack for my Life: This is an idea brought forth by AJ from the site "AJ's Little Piece of Misery." If there was a soundtrack for my life, these would be the songs on it. These are some songs I can relate to, with lyrics I can truly understand. By the way, this has gotta be the most worthless part of my site, but I really have nothing better to do. So here it is:
1. "Diary of a Madman"-Ozzy Osbourne
2. "3 Libras"-A Perfect Circle
3. "Creep"-RadioHeaD
4. "Fade to Black"-MetallicA
5. "Safe Tonight"-Anti-Flag
6. "Jerk-Off"-Tool
7. "The Heretic Anthem"-Slipknot
8. "Nerdy"-Poison the Well
9. "Wish You Were Here"-Pink Floyd
10. "To Bid You Farewell"-Opeth
11. "Something I Can Never Have"-Nine Inch Nails
12. "Understanding in a Car Crash"-Thursday
13. "Burn"-The Cure
14. "All I Have is Me"-Darwin's Waiting Room
What I Want To Be: When I grow up, I wanna be a Writer/Director. That's the main goal I'm setting for myself.
People I Love and Care About: I may not seem like it too much but if there's one thing I am for sure, it's a very caring person. Much love to my family and anyone connected to it, my friends(you know who you are), anyone who's ever been nice to me or anyone else, and anyone who's ever taken time out of their day to check out my website. Much appreciated, and even though I don't know who first said this, "May peace prevail on Earth." If it doesn't, than may the next best thing prevail, Armageddon...just kidding.
