Animating effects: animating filters and motion parameters with keyframes, altering
keyframe interpolation, creating simple and complex motion paths, adjusting
a motion path’s velocity, creating a closed motion path.
Week Three (Jan 25)
Layer Techniques: layer fundamentals, advanced layer techniques, nesting, layer
sequences, splitting layers.
Week Four (Feb 2)
Colour correcting basics: maximizing an image’s brightness and contrast
range, colour balancing images, achieving a particular look or mood, matching
colour and brightness between shots, ensuring broadcast safe chroma and luma
values, creating colour effects
Week Five (Feb 9)
Alpha channels, mattes and keys: Alpha channel basics, creating alpha channels,
creating alpha channels using Travel mattes, interpreting alpha channels.
Week Six (Feb 16)
Composite Modes and video generators: composite mode basics, composite mode
effects, generator basics, filter and mode effects with generators, generators
and travel matte effects, using generators for travel mattes, advanced generator
effects.
Week Seven (Feb 23)
Filter techniques: how filters work, applying filters in the right order, advanced
filter effects.
Week Eight (March 2)
Mixing sound: using FCP as a mixer, audio effects, mixing techniques, recording
audio keyframes, audio file strategies, exporting audio, OMF files.
